Thread: Camping Macro for Scouts
Here's a better solution than sitting in camp and waiting for it to disappear.
First some info, if you walk out of a camp it becomes abandoned in two minutes, then disappears in four, so what's needed is a way to get out of the camp using a macro. The way I do this is by using repeated /prone /stand commands as this shifts you forward a little each time, something like Tumble to Prone would no doubt be better if you have it. Pauses are required between the commands, like a couple of seconds (I find /pause 1 = half a second). I've got something like forty /prone /stand commands to get out of theimproved camps, they're obviously bigger and take longer leave from.
Alsomake sure you're pointing in a southwesterly direction so you can get out without tripping over anything.
I can post more info on the macro's I use if you need it.
im trying to get the macro to work
/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 3600;/ etc...
the macro seems to work as my first camps drops but..
my auto afk in settings is not enabled but it keeps booting me. any ideas?
My guess is it didn't loop correctly. Has anyone gotten that to work right?
Try putting yourself in /afk mode manually to avoid the server kicking you. There may be an automatic timer. Or you might be getting kicked for no good reason.
I finally got the script to work. I also sample as I am camping.
I set up 12 camps from space 01 to 13. Space 00 is for my script. /ui action toolbarSlot01; etc..(No space between toolbarSlot and 01 VERY IMPORTANT as is CAPITAL S)
My sample is even more devious!
/sample; /pause 600; /ui action toolbarSlot14; Than I put my macro in slot 14, hit it once and the baby recycles constantly!
I got the macro to work fine. Mine is very simple. It works with or without afk disabled. I did notice something that may be biting people.
When dragging from inventory to my F keys, you have to use each camp in your inventory as an icon for each F key. You can't use just the "icon" for the camp, and expect the game to find the next available icon in your inventory by dragging the same camp into each Fkey. Each camp represents its own F key.
Hope that helps anyone.
/stand;/sample;/pause 5;/sit;/pause 60;/ui action toolbarSlot21;
Place the macro in slot 21 and you will sample nonstop. The sitting between sample cycles keeps my action almost full. To break the cycle, just move the macro from slot 21 to another slot and it wont trigger itself again. If there are times when you need to fight, having a low action pool can be fatal.
So far, in this entire thread, i've read one worthwhile post. Thank you Razean.
Macros defeat the purpose of what you all define as "the Grind"
Sony puts the high exp requirements in to make sure that we don't get uber powerful uber quick.
I don't see a problem with the requirements. I wish people would stop trying to exploit the system, cuz it's making it hard for the honest players to get anywhere. I *wanted* to be a CH. They made it easy to abuse, so they are nerfing it. Now it will be underpowered, and still easy to master. I was also looking at BE, but with the CH nerf, kinda drives the need for a be, doesnt it?
Now i'm debating about Ranger or Squad Leader, but if you all exploit survival macros, they'll make it impossible for me to get up there when they nerf survival exp.
I'm glad they are booting you off, glad the macros don't work like you want them to. Try PLAYING the game. Physically at your PC. Sure, it'll take a while... so what? what is the race?

Hawk,
Don't go towards the darkness! Stay away from CH!
As for the camping - don't worry. There are relatively few camping exploits. Almost none, as far as I can tell. Which is why the devs are working at ways to aid us in getting more survival XP.
My personal suggestion is to grab Ranger and Squad Leader. Ranger - if you liked Scouting - is more of the same. Squad leading is just plain fun, especially with the /sysgroup command. But don't expect to advance quickly in Squad leader unless you have a group of about 20 riflemen hunting on Dathomir.

I haven't been getting any experience for auto disbanding of camps. Does anybody experience the same problem as me?
Also, have after the recent slate of patches, has anybody been able to get your camp macros up?
Evang,
How long was the camp up before it auto-disbanded?
If this isn't working, it may be on purpose. We're techincally not supposed to be using macros for AFK gameplay.
