I've sold many many many units of hide as a master ranger, and I will have to disagree with the Mal over OQ. The most important statistic is OQ... but just because it's most important doesn't mean there aren't other MAJOR statistic factors.
Malleability's main function is to lower encumberance. Most people don't buy armor for low encumberance first. They look at the effectiveness and protection before they look at encumberance. This is affected by a high SR. Most armorsmiths will take OQ/SR hide over OQ/MAL hide any day, especially wooly. ALL armorsmiths will take a low MAL or SR with high OQ over a low OQ hide any day. If you're lucky enough to find a hide with all 3 in the 800's or more... you should be making a fortune. (fortune being 30cpu or more)
