What does that say about you?

I could sit here and flame you, but why bother, you wouldn't understand half of what was said.

now go read the stickies, if you can find them"

You're supposed to be a representative of SWG... someone a bit above all the trivial "trash talking" that takes place on these boards. I'm sorry your post is an embarrassment and maybe you should consider cleaning up your act.

Totally agree.

It's not nice way to reply to someone's question be it a right or wrong question.

My take on it is although it may be wrong or stupid to macro xp, the survival column is incredibly boring and some of us only have a limited game time each day. It's kinda hard to get excited about using your few hours game time that day just sat in a camp.

So you could understand someone wanting to get that column out of the way pretty quick and get back to the things they enjoy.

I think a nice simple explanation of why it's not the done thing would have been easier and more polite.

well, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that if you dealt with the same question over...and over....and over, you'd get peeved too. By the way, you have to EARN respect. If you're asking for the easy way out, and want to powergame through the profession, you don't deserve respect. If you're askng for help on ways to get the XP in a time-concious way, but be at the keyboard all the time, then I can respect that. Asking for a macro instantly makes you undeserving of respect of anyone who's done it the real way-- especially of those of us who've done it more than once, all the time at the keyboard.

It's nice to be nice, sure...but (and I'm sure JB will agree with me) it's nice to read the freaking stickies too, and if people can't take the time to do that, then why should we take the time to be nice?

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Ok, as the new people don't know -

Macro camping is stupid. There is not a command to disband a camp. Camps max out in 21 minutes if you do nothing, yet do not dissolve until 51 minutes. That is a waste of 30 minutes, more or less.

A camp can be maxed totally, to include the monster uber Ranger camps, with 3 people doing something, in under 10 minutes.

The smartest thing to do is to sit in a camp and craft more camps while camping. Craft in practice mode.

Hey wait, all this info is in the stickies and the guide. So reading them would be a good thing.

This same stupid question has been asked and answered at least 100 times, go do a search if you doubt me.

Why spend time on the same question 100 times in a row when the poster is obviously a troll looking for the easy way out? I would rather help the new people who have questions, and I do, and I don't flame them at all. And as long as they don't ask for macros, they get help and advice.

Oh yeah, I represent me, not SOE. Ask Tiggs.

Perhaps it may be easier to have a standard short reply to this often asked question?

That way your assumption that the person is trolling or looking for an easy way out would stop the risk of your rather impolite answer perhaps stopping someone contributing to these boards for asking a question in innocence.

As it is your reply and subsequent post have given me the decision to not post on the scout board again. I'd rather try to seek advice in game.

As they say it's nice to be nice......

Well I'm neither surprised nor shocked. I've seen lots of stupid things posted and more often then not I just ignore them. There is the old saying that goes something like, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

People get flammed and harassed enough on these forums without it having to come from the Brass running the show.

JB what's the matter with you?

In the old days you would have just pistol whipped these punks and left them for dead by the side of the road.

For those that haven't a clue, JB tells things the way they are.

Want sugar coating, go to the jedi Forum.

Want a-hole kissing, go to the BH forum.

Want the truth? Stick around here and either stand up and dish it back to JB in good fun, or shut up and take it.

Either way, macros are for sissies.

lol ... thanks

But somehow the xp was grinded for me ... weird

Well congratz... Not...

This whole excercise tells me you're not a scout... Even if you would wear the master tag, you're not worth it.

It's a shame... really...

Well personally I'd bet pounds to doughnuts as I'm English. But I'd be horrified if I thought than one person was put off a forum by my ill mannered reply. Maybe 4 out of 5 people ask stupid or lazy questions but is it worth putting of the 5th by being rude. In the time it takes to type a surley or rude answer you can input a short and standard reply.

Yes there are stickies and lots of other posts unfortunately someone new to the boards (look at me an 18 monther in gamewith 43 posts?) does not understand how it all works. Is it not worth the odd wasted reply to a lazy poster to encourage someone new?

I think, in this case, it was more a combination of things.

I mean, a person with over 7600 POSTS.... That persons should KNOW to read the STICKIES first...

I'm only on 500 posts, and even I know to read the stickiest first and if I can't find it or something is unclear, then I ask it

So in fact this whole thread is going about nothing, nowhere very fast.

If you want to do it solo here is my take on it.

Get an egg timer or a clock and disband camp every 10 mins or so. Why? Because you get over half xp, so in the long run you will make more xp faster than waiting the 21 mins.

Grind up traps first. Why? Because the better traps give better xp.

If you have some medic you could also kill stuff in between camps. Why? Well its less boring and your camp will give more xp in that 10 mins if you healed youself. Although overall doing it this way will slow down your overall xp rate, since time spent killing doesn't equal extra xp gained. P.S. fighting or leaving your camp while its up for very long makes it abandoned, meaning no xp.

If you are an entertainer as well you could dance or play at camp then heal your action bar. I never tried this so I don't know how well it would work.

Of course always make and use the best camp you can.

Its boring, but it doesn't take take long to do. I did mine in less than a week and I wasn't trying to hard.
