Thread: Experiments with Camping

I'm starting to get wildly fluctuating results from camping, but fortunately, I don't need wilderness survival experience as urgently as before. I've been led to believe that I or at the very least, my server (Bria) is out of whack, since everything from healing to experience seems to be slowing down and speeding up randomly (seemingly random anyway). Oh, and the improved camp will teleport me to 0,0 if I sit in the lawn chair(s) 75% of the time (what a hoot that is).

One word: Wounds....

I died once and spawned in at an uncloned area. This of course causes 120 to 300 wound points to the HAM.

plus the wounds from battles of constitution, strength blah bllah...

This nearly cut the camp max exp down in half. ~20 minutes for medium camp, ~15 minutes for small camp. Unfortunately I figured thise out with 10,000 exp to go. Regardless the last 10k exp was much faster and less boring. Added to this wound factor I was also sampling resources.

My camps last around 45+ min I get 600 exp for basic at 30 min and 800 for multi at 30 min

also my camps auto disband some where after 45 min I have never really counted how long one last as I usually disband it around the 30 min mark

That's interesting. I didn't know camps auto-disbanded.

Also, I have only gotten killed once, uninsured, but it was no big deal considering that I could make camps. I didn't deliberately go out and got killed just to get camping XP.

The easiest way to get survival XP is to make a camp whenever you just happen to stop. Even for two minutes, five minutes, half hour, whatever, set up a camp. And before you leave a camp, build another camp and stick it into inventory. There is nothing more inconvienent than wanting to set up a camp right now and you have to hurry up and crank it out. I usually have all three modelsprebuilt in inventory, and I employ the small one for short stops and the biggest one for the long stays.

"I'm wondering if setting up 2 seprate 15 minute camps is better then one 30 minute? "

This is a GREAT query.

It would seem to me that 2 15 minute camps would give me a minimum of 1040xp, while one thirty minute camp will provide 800.

I cant believe I never thought about that! 15 minuters it is!
