Thread: Wishful thinking for a scout ability
For the exploration skill, I've brought that up and tossed out a number of ideas on it. The Devs are actively working on a means to incentivize (is that a word?) Exploration by granting XP. The only question was whether or not it was going to be a static (one time only XP grants for visiting special sites, new worlds and cities), or dynamic (missions from terminals to visit certain areas....like long distance deliveries, etc.).
They are still working this out.
Like I said before, the only thing that was definitely out was the "mileage odometer" because of techincal restraints regarding the amount of information stored on the character on the server.

That's one of the things the Scout dev and I talked about, specifically with the new Scout terminals coming in the next update.

Woohoohoo! God I love this game!
For that, I'll tell you a little story Delta. Over lunch today, I was taming a rock beetle for XP. I had /follow on it, because those dang babies like to walk all over the place. This is also just east of Mos Eisley, a very dangerous place to be. Anyway, it didn't take to kindly to my taming attempt, so it attacked me. Right after it attacked me, it started running with me in tow. Now, I wasn't paying a lot of attention, plus I was in first person view, so I didn't notice the lair of 5 mountain squills ahead. Needless to say, I provided some very important nourishment to those mountains squills. **edit** beetle.
Figured you'd like that story seeing how much you despise CHs. ![]()
HA! Good story. Sorry it required you taking a dirt nap. You're one of the few CHs I don't want to see get eaten by a Rancor.
Speaking of Rancors, I had a fun story from last night.
I was out hunting with some guildies on Dathomir, and we ran across a lair of Biz natches (I know, its really baz nitches, but Biz natches sounds funnier to me) that was almost RIGHT on top of a group of singing mountain Rancors. One of the guys I was with said "whoa. Those natches are safe - no one will hit them with those rancors there".
Being the smartass that I am, I said "Watch this". I proceeded to hit the lair with a few rifle shots. They natches started chasing me, as usual. Instead of popping burst run and getting out of there, I made a beeline for the biggest, meanest, ugliest Rancor.
Everyone stood there with their mouths agape, as the Rancor ignored me, aggroed on the Natches while I destroyed the lair solo. Then we sat back and watched the rest of the Rancors kick the butts of the natches. It was great.
Needless to say, I got some props for that.
This is such a fun game.

I think the Rancor either decided I was too cute too attack (this happens a lot), or that the Biznatch (I love typing that) was a bigger threat.
It was fun to watch.
