No, the new system hurts solo scouts tremendously. I solo 90% of the time and a huge chunk of my income is derived from sales to armorsmiths and the like. I use pets solely for hunting. Now if they are grouped with me I am unrealistically penalized on harvest quantities.

The new system is a good start, but it should check to see if another player that possesses the Novice Scout skill is present in the group. If not, then let harvests be 100%. If another scout is in the group, then 60% is fair. This code needs work and refinement to be realistic and non-crippling.

What you are witnessing is a house built on a shaky foundation. As new faulty additions are made with no corrections to previous core problems, the whole thing will eventually cave in on itself.
The vision for SWG has been lost, and will likely never be regained.

I agree harvesting cutback was the worst idea the DEVS ever had. Master Rangers should harvest 100% of all available resources.

Maybe it should be based on class - Master Scout - 50%, Novice Ranger - 60%, Next level 70%, then 80% etc...

It should be a reward system for the experience you gain and the skill you increasae. Otherwise what is the point of leveling up.

The math is correct, but the logic is not so clear.

Yes, as a group of 10 scouts, their harvest is 6 times that of a scout harvesting alone (assuming all other abilities equal since different harvest levels yield different resource drop numbers), but that's as a group assuming that only a single person is interested in the materals they harvested. It comes out to less if all ten scouts wanted the materials.

There are large advantages to grouping. The ability to take down larger prey, for instance. The game design encourages a degree of cooperation (as MMORPGs should, IMHO, even though I am largely a solo player). To say that this is the end of solo grouping is not true at all. I solo and I will still solo even with the current adjustments in place. That's my preferred playing style and am willing to accept the penalties (less GROSS harvest amounts, not being able to take on larger/more dangerous prey, slower lair-cleanup) for the benefits (only have to deal with myself and not the coordination issues of being in groups, can play at all hours, can pause/stop anytime I wanted).

I know a number of people with scouting skills that do not have the time to scout. This is because they are doing what they enjoy and want to do as their focus profession (artisan, medic, faction mission destroyer) and thus, purchase their organics from me. I took artisan skills as well so I can provide two services for my customers. I like to think of myself as an organics-r-us entity (hide, bone, meat, wood, fruit, grain with the occasional inorganic) and they seem to like the one-source-for-stuff. I see an added benefit to being an artisan: I can provide those survey-only items to my fellow rangers. At discount prices! Just show me your title! Also, I'm trying to form an informal Antarian Rangers group on Valcyn so that we can share information about resources we find and possibly do trade and training assistance to fellow rangers. Contact me in-game if you are from Valcyn!

I agree. Hot patch this as soon as possible. Not only does this make me spend twice as much time harvesting for my guild members needs, but twice as long for my cash. And the main source of quality meat / hide / bone is from the Ranger community and Scout community, not the newbies who just need to grab scout XP for terrain negotiation or to get bounty hunter.

Please fix, this is a huge mistake to something that worked perfectly before.
