with what limited exposure I get to the scout boards, I have to say Delta is one of the best correspondents I have seen to date... I posted something and within minutes I had a well thought out and intelligent reply...

granted I was lucky he was on when I was, but it still impressed the hell out of me...

makes me want to make another character to master scout on... again... can you believe I have 8 characters and all but 1 of em has scout and 4 of them are or have been master scout... go figure...

as far as I am concerned you are the most worthless, utterly worthless, incredibly worthless, worthless worthless correspondents in the game. you... oh wait...

i thought i was on the creature handler forum, sorry.

keep up the good work.

Even tho its been said by others here, Delta & Nraas are 1st class correspondents in my opinion.

I check a few proffession boards & it seems to me that the scout/ranger community has 2 of the hardest working and friendly correspondents going.

Altho I seem to remember being promised monkey making oppurtunites galore & I have yet to hear of anyone successfully making a monkey.

Any update on that delta?

You're doing fine. Now if SOE would listen to the correspondents, or try not to change every part of the game before looking at a list of top issues...

Delta,

You and NRaas are doing fine. If there's any perception that you're not getting things done, it's probably because 1)As you yourself have said, the Scout profession is pretty much perfect as it is, and 2) Correspondents can only do so much, and then they have to leave it up to the Thunderheart and the Devs.

We've been dealt a few blows lately, what with the vehicle/camp thing and the devaluing of terrain negotiation due to vehicles, but these are moves by the devs that you very obviously protested against and you shouldn't be held responsible for the fact that they aren't listening.

All the old-timers here remember how quickly you mobilized to get the harvesting and maskscent bugs fixed, and as far as I'm concerned, that's reason enough to keep you around.

I'm curious though: these people that are grumbling about correspondents, are they important people or just whiners?

Squib,

It's mainly a few folks who think that Thunderheart is the embodiment of everything that is evil in the world - that he populates the Correspondent program with his friends and only hires yes-men who don't argue.

They also think that we're too powerful -we stop people from commenting about things we don't like, use the sticky power to make sure only our ideas get presented, and we tell our PAs all about all of the secrets (ha) that we learn so we can benefit from upcoming changes.

It's all bunk, mainly coming from one or two folks who didn't get into the program, and want to give the rest of us a hard time. They don't particularly hate me, as I've been around longer than Thunderheart, but I am one of I think 4 of us who have been Correspondents since July, and the anti-Correspondent folks want term limits.

I posted this after a long flame fest in the Ahazi forums - why, I have no idea, as I play on Bloodfin and TC. Wanted to see if there was anything that I wasn't doing that I should be. The idea of the website like N'Raas has is a good one. Seeing if I can figure out a way to implement it. I'm not that web savvy, unfortunately, and I think most of our important posts are stickied here anyway.

My main concern is, and always will be, that I'm representing the Scouts fairly and objectively. Just making sure thatI still have the confidence of the community.

First Delta i think youre doing fine. You responed to my Thune Mother post the very next day. Something i would not expect on other prof's forums. I dont know the ranger guy so no offense. but i wish you could be cloned.

Secondly, i am not a fan of TH's. He seems to (me at least) follow the line of thinking that if you cant dazzle em with brilliance baffle em with bu**sh**. Would rather see a communications system where he doesnt post to us. We get the news strait from the Corrs and not some link. If there is something happening i would rather you understand it and explain it. IF i have questions, they get responded to (and i know you would) but it isnt the same in the other communities. If hes at the top leave him there to distribute information. Seems to me like each hand would know what the other is doing that way.

Third would be nicer still to hear more Corrs say they battle for us. I know its kinda hard to battle for a prof that doesnt really seem broken. Maybe this would make an interesting topic "time shedule of a correspondent" maybe it would make me appreciate the seemingly quiet Corrs.

Fourth i agree that in some forums it is hard to know which ideas the correspondent is pushing.

A lot of that isnt what you asked for, as a person who doesnt make it here often i tend to see questions and timely replies from yourself. If i could make an analogy, i see the hard workers like yourself as the person throwing a life preserver to me after i fall overboard from a ship. Not someone too confused what to do and lets me die or someone too afraid or timid to do something wrong and seeks the assurance of those higher up before rescuing me, but a true hero that realizes for some of us the game is life. And you preserve that way of life.

I dont want term limits, just 35 more DeltaX's.

Pluto,

Thank you very much for that post. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

And think about how many monkeys we could make with 35 of me.

I've only been around for a short while, but I find that the scout forums are some of the most comprehensive and helpful ones here. I like the way you handle your position and seek to keep things in perspective (it is just a game after all). Your scout guide was immensely helpful to me, so to that I saykeep up the good work.
