Thread: whoa.. no more wilderness survival exp?
The loss of Wilderness XP (in any meaningful way) will come back to bite us in the butt when we ask for the scout line to be made more than 'just' killit, skinit, rinse, wash and repeat it.
Still, you have to play the game as it is, so I guess you can now go to Master Scout/Ranger and never set foot in one of your own camps. /sigh

While it is true that only doctors can heal wounds, the catch here is that they do them by magic now, anywhere. In fact, unless they are in combat, they don't get any XP for healing wounds, be it in a camp or a medical faciltiy, which they don't need (or med droids for that matter) to heal wounds, because they cast a spell now to do so.
Which sucks on several levels: doctor has been nerfed to utter uselessness in the CU. You can still heal wounds by sitting in a camp or a medical center, you just have to spend the time onit, so you don't need a doc. Which is a good thing, because docs are respecing away from it at an alarming rate. Docs are no longer compensated with XP for healing outside of combat, or for buffing outside of combat, for that matter.
A lot of the subtle interplay between players with different skillsets has been smashed to atoms by the CU, but hey, SOE needs to get this game in shape to run on a PlayStation, so dumbing down is the mandate that the devs have. Since many of them are imported from the accursed elf games, this is right up their alley.

You are preaching to the choir on the Doc situation.The wound healing thing however does open up possibilities with the survival line. If you are a new player and do not know a Doc, or know how or where to find a Doc, then camps are a viable healing option. Hopefully we can get them to bump up the heal rate on all camps, since currently it is aggonizingly slow, and with wilderness xp incentive gone there is really no other benefit to sitting in a camp.
