Thread: Trap Question

I had asked this question in another thread that started with a different topic, but wasn't sure if people would look at it becaue it was a bit OT from the original, so I'm reposting it in it's own thread.

Do better quality resources make for better traps? Meaning will the effects last longer...will the be successful more often, etc.

Anyone know?

LOL

Well, like I said, I was just worried the question might be overlooked by others who read the topic Trap Experimentation and say to themselves "No such thing...moving on." so I wanted to make sure the topic fit the subject, since experimentation and effectiveness could be considered seperate issues.

Sorry for the near double post.

Hi everyone. I respec'd to ranger about a week ago, and finally got an equipment factory to mass produce some traps, camo kits, etc. My question is, other than the one that will remain unnamed, which traps are worth using? I use glow juice traps every once in a while, but I can never really tell if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Even pre-CU traps were a bit....ahhhh....underpowered for the way most people like to play. Post-CU the PDart seems to very effective, and combined with a Rifleman's Kneecap shot provides a Root State. Adhesive Mesh traps did this pretty well pre-CU and also seem to apply that state post-CU but only for seconds at a time.

As a rifleman, I've not found anything other that the PDarts to be very effective right now, but other testing is underway.

Ad mesh traps will last longer if you quit hitting the target. I keep a few as my last ditch Monty Python "Run away, run away" trap. When the fecal matter gets weak, pop one at the baddie and beatus feetus.

I use the 'glow wire' traps, they lower the melee and ranged defences of critters, I think it works....it says it does....any way, when i solo I use this trap to 'pull' a critter away from its lair (and buddies) so I can take it 1 vs 1. It seems as a Master I can throw around 35-40 meters away and have about a 90-95% success rate of it sticking.

Using glow wire traps to pull singles away from mobs is what I use. Pdarts with kneecap shot are very usefull also.

Glow wire traps seem to work pretty well, I know when fighting higher level mobs, my group always asks me to "Throw that smoke bomb that makes us hit harder". I run them in crates along with my p-darts. Sadly, those are really the only two traps I use anymore.

It depends if you are hunting solo or in a group. When solo you are probably fine using just the one that will remain unnamed. When in a group flash bombs are very handing for annoying the melee members of your team by making their eyes go funny while you stand back giggling to yourself.

What are these traps that will remain unnamed that I keep hearing about. Please PM me if you must...But I am climbing up the ranger ranks and I would like to know what traps to use also.

I am having a difficult time getting traps to hit. In fact last night I bought about 10 crates of various traps and hunted for about 3 hours....Not one trap hit. If these were made pre-cu could that have an effect?

What traps sould I use for xp? Then what traps should I stick to at master? I would love to know about this unnamed trap....but how am I to know about it if it remains unnamed?!?!? Please let me in the Ranger "circle of trust"
