Thread: For all those maskscent questions, and where to get scout xp
I debated this also. I finally decided to get enough xp to train both Hunting II and Explore IV at the same time. I realize the xp will be less, but I hope to make up for it by being able to travel more safely around herds and thus get more xp with less down time.
I guess its really up to the individual to decide.
Has this been nerfed?
Does the ammount of hunting Matter?
I can't get 1 single bit of XP from this..
I just got Exp 3 tonight and spent all my cash to get to LOK. It was amazing for me - in a short 1 hour I got abotu 13k worth of experience.
One note. If you agro something and are running off without burst (sometimes it wasn't up from previous agro's yet) and you are hitting Peace and Mask Scent over and over again, even though you get a message that you can't mask scent when in combat, you can almost always make the creature turn away from you.
A second note. If you are running from something and don't have Mask Scent up and elect to run into the water, you can't use Mask Scent while in water. It stays on through the water if you had it up before entering, but you can't activate it while in the water.
You DO have to be within a certain distance for it to work correctly. The distance varies it seems per type of creature.
I am hoping to get Creature Handling by this weekend, but work gets in the way some!
Alright Lok is def the answer. I went there as a level 3 Explorer left as a level 4 explorer level 3 hunter andalmsot to level 4 hunter. I was in a massive group hunting 20 pep.Neway we ranby all sorts of demon things. My scout XP marker tellingme when i was gettin xp was goin like a slot machine. {ding ding ding ding ding ding} 90 75 90 90 90 90 90 90 i was there 2 hors and came back a lot further then i was. I spent several days gettin up to Explor 3 and it pays off trust me. I'm heading back their tommarow. Oh and def get a 2 way ticket cause you may be stranded like i was for a while . Well neway its a good way to get XP when you have at least Exp 3. Oh and go around naked armor won't help you.

) made my camp to heal up, was not a single red dot on my screen, wife was finsihing some pasta so went afk for maybe 2 mins to get some, glanced at screen and was getting pounded by a red dot dog critter in my Camp! Mask Scent still on ! it incap'd me and imediately disappeared! Was crazy, now...... I think a bit of (devine ( GM maybe ) intervention took place since i went /afk that 2 mins. so be careful on Lok and dont go afk . because I think BIG Brother a be a watching now when you use Mask scent is an Icon at yer bar screen ( hp, action, body bar ) if its there then mask scent is up and running, if it is not then they smell ? you. also watch closely the screen it will say 45 scouing xp , 124 scouting xp, 234 scouting xp ' you have been detected, when you see that Imediatly hit that mask scent hot key, just keep an eye on the screen and ya be ok, btw on Nauritus kreetles used to give 1 xp scouting for mask scent, that was at explore 2, now I get nada ( shrugs ) hope this helps some. respects to all.

i dont think im getting it, i turn on mask scent...... then i run around red radar mobs, it dosent tell me that it works or not, either i can get right up to em, or it says that the creature detected me, but when they dont detect me i dont get any xp... whats the problem? am i using it wrong?

make sure to remember to use /dump it will terminate all macros running.
