I must say I look forward to the faster Camping XP.

Want really fast XP? Camp and fish at the same time! No more spamming prone tumble for me...

I'm a little concerned about that word "eventually". I chose Bothan as the race for my Ranger because of the bonus to camoflage.


Other than that, everything sounds great for scouts. I hope the Ranger report is as promising.

Like many others (I just want to add my voice to the chorus) I have NOT received ONE single point of XP for using Mask Scent since the big patch went in. It works MUCH better now, but it does not grant XP. That is my biggest scout gripe. Not being able to share harvests is my second biggest gripe, but it sounds like you've got that in hand.

One idea for scouts to make more money other than selling the animal resources is to make the basic camp usable by non-scouts. Not sure if they can use them now or not, never tried to use one without being a scout before.

We might also make Chef recipes use more fish so that there is a market for the fish resources.


As currently no chef recipes require fish (though I have used it once in place of meat/organic), "more" really means "any" .


Also, you might note that the amount of fish you get from one catch (8-15 I think) is not really enough to cook much of anything with. Either the chef food that requires fish needs to be really good, the time to catch a fish needs to be reduced (I don't agree with this, I like the leisurely pace of fishing), or the amount of fish you receive per catch should be increased by a lot.


Another incentive to fishing would be to make it easier to put fishon a wall. I love my trophy fish, but it looks rather pathetic on the floor .

There is no longer a camouflage skill mod for scouts.

Will Bothans be adjusted accordingly? While it wasn't the major deciding factor, the increased stealth bonus was a consideration in making my character.

Well in the last several days, I have been using Mask Scent and because I was not sure if it was supposed to be giving any XP after the changes to keep it from being exploited, I was watching my scout experience explicitly.


Now without doing any harvesting from kills (as I was working on other advancement) I used Mask Scent wherever I ran, and ran through the middle of red aggressive, instant death mobs, and was not attacked multiple times, by different nest/hive/lair groups, but my experience never went up one point. There were many times when my mask scent was dropped, and obviously I wouldn't expect to get any XP then. I would, however, have expected to see a few XP points from those times when it did not drop, and I went through herd/family/pride groups without being attacked at all if there is supposed to be experienced gained through the use of Mask Scent which it sounds like there is.


I received 0 xp for it though, I started with exactly the same amount of XP as I ended with, over several days use. Not that I thought it was all bad, since I thought it was still useful to get through those groups of aggressive mobs, even if I didn't get experience, though my thoughts were it would be nice to be able to get scout XP in more ways than just animal harvesting.





Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

Guys,


I want to thank Holocron, Q and the Scout dev for getting this information to us.


This is a recap of the vast majority of the issues that the Scout dev and I discussed a few weeks ago, and that I had been holding my tongue about - which was very difficult.


You can see by the level of detail (and based on the hints that I've been dropping) that the Devs ARE listening, and HAVE heard our issues. Nearly everything on our wish list has been addressed and will be added.


Our patience has paid off - maybe not for all of us who are Master Scouts, but for those whom we will be mentoring.


For everyone who had an idea that I presented - thank you! And I hope that this bolsters all of our confidence that the process the Devs have set up is working. It may not be the fastest thing out there, but it works.


Let's keep it going guys!

I'd like to see trap crafting stay as yielding crafting XP. I think with the additonal changes regarding Wilderness XP you could leave trap making as regular craft XP.


It helped me get to Engineer 4 but just making traps and camps while sitting in camp.
