I do believe that the higher you get in Hunting line (both Scout and Ranger) the more info you get. It does seem somewhat random though. Some mobs I'll get almost full details (only Hunting II) and on others I'll just get basics.

Okies - finally did some more checking on this... Saw some weird things. All the critters I checked have an armor rating of 'none' - though they were admittedly mostly low-level. However, some critters ALSO have no vulnerabilities/effectiveness/special protection stats as well. So it looks like they're missing info that other critters have.

For example, nightspiders have very little info at all. There are no fields with numbers - or even the possibility of numbers - in their examine data.

Dappled 'guanos' (my nickname for guanamalas, or whatever they are) however have a whole bunch of fields - some of them have a dash indicating, I assume, that I don't have access to that info yet at Hunting 3.

Also, I'm not sure what 'effectiveness' means (one of the data fields). I assume that when those show a percentage, that critter has a bonus to defense against that particular item. Energy, heat, restraint, etc. So a squall with 15% in the effectiveness column for energy, gets a 15% reduction in damage when energy weapons are used.

With all that said, I have a few suggestions.

1) Give us the fields for all critters - if they have no 'effectiveness' or vulnerability, show that with a zero or a 'None'.

2) An explanation of armor rating, and how it works, would be nice. If a guano has an armor rating of zero, how does it have bonuses/penalties - do we assume they're inherent in the hide? I assume that higher level critters have higher armor ratings? Hopefully, there's some sort of consistency behind-the-scenes when it comes to armor 'classes' for natural critters.

3) I also get these weird inconsistencies when examining NPC's. Some have fields with info, while others don't. I assume that our hunting bonus to examine affects examining NPC's as well - since the fields I've seen and the missing info seem on a par with critters, but perhaps that should be clarified as well?

4) I've seen some fields on some critters that aren't on others - for example, the special protection field. It would be nice if all critters displayed the same fields - just again giving us zero's when they're not applicable. Guess this kinda goes along with suggestion #1... /shrug
