Yeah DE takes, gosh, a good 6 hours to master from Novice artisan (assuming you have all the resources).

I think most people here will agree, scout has very little to do with the BH profession.

Hunting: BHs hunt people, not animals.
Trapping: Same as hunting. Nice skill to have while hunting creatures, but doesn't pertain to the Bounty Hunting profession.
Exploration: Good for running...but then again with vehicles who does that?
Survival: Obviously the most boring, and again with vehicles, med droids, and stims camps are at best a luxury. Never understood why this is really in the game at all. Sure, maybe it should be a special thing for novice scout, master scout, master ranger, and novice ranger, but 'camping' does not, in my opinion, warrant an entire line. (not to mention another ranger line).

I think it would make a lot of people happy if scout was eliminated as a requirement, or only part of scout was a requirement for BH. You wouldn't have BHs complaining here, and BHs wouldn't have to spend time on something that doesn't pertain to their profession. This is especially true since at the moment BH isn't very good and usually doesn't warrant all the skill points it takes (except for dabblers).

I have a wannabe BH and the survival is not bad. First Im not grinding the profession Im working all the trees as evenly as I can. But I did find a way to make sure my camp gets max XP in very little time.

I have all my traps ready to go, then find a basic creature I can let beat on me for a bit without worrying about dieing. I then spam all my traps until my action bar is less than half. I then finish off the creature, harvest it for either hide or bone, and camp. Healing all the action helps give you max XP from your camps quicker. I also have to craft a camp and a bunch of traps to replace the ones I used. I also run a forage macro in full armourto make sure my action stays lower while I grind my traps/camps(Its an altered survey macro my artisan used)

Of course I havent made it to three yet, I bet the grind from three to four is going to take a bit. I wonder if calling a camp around a cluster of Stormtroopers gets you more XP?

Other things people have said work, running out of your camp and back in to increase the number of visitors. Ive also seen guys fishing in rivers while standing in a camp!

Scout has to have the most complimentary trees for climbing of any profession. Only two trees compete for the same XP, and harvesting for hide and bone give you scout XP, grinding the hide and bone give you survival XP and if you grind traps you have traps for get trapping XP.

Try grinding Droid Engy. All four trees use crafting XP!

No 6 hours, I'm not kidding. The guy I share an office with is a hardcore hologrinder. He basically has a macro that runs 6 crafting stations at the same time (and huge stacks of fibroplast and metal). All he does is program his wheel on his mouse to do the double-click action and does a quick wrist movement and one click on each of the materials. Not that I watched him for six hours. But, I watched him for a little bit on our lunch break when he was novice and the next day he had completed it. He said it was really just 4 hours of crafting and 2 hours of messing around with his macro after training (new schematics throws off the schematic number so he had to make the macro after each time he capped and trained). He says for the crafting professions he just sits there and watches TV while he clicks. He doesn't even have to look at the screen. Its just a click, a short wrist movement and another click and the macro takes care of the rest.

LOL! Trust me, I tease him about it on a daily (almost hourly now) basis. He's "Exploiter" and I'm "Griefer" (for hunting Jedi).

When I did scout back in JULY there was no crafting camp xp, there was you sit your butt in a camp with some friends and do something else for 30 minutes and then put up another tent. I would have killed to be able to craft tents for survival xp at the same time. There was also this pesky thing that only one person in your group could harvest, so no xp for you slow clicking scouts out there.

People need to stop grinding and learn how to play, you know for fun.

Ditto.

I tell me friends in-game that my apartment was never cleaner than when I was levelling scout.

Yep tents/traps gave general crafting xp
you had to sit your ass down and wait 30 min at a time.
Fortuantely for me I went tuskan raiding at the fort a lot, when ther are 20 people in your camp you get the xp max a lot faster.
