sorry, but pets should not be able to negotiate with YOUR skills. i have ch and constatnly have to go back to get my pet or slow down on the hills so they can catch up. it lends a bit of reality to the game. being able to have pets is a significant benefit, but like all such benefits there needs to be some drawbacks and this is one of them. by the way, negotiation is increased going downhill as well. i always get to the bottom of a hill faster thatn anyone without the scout ability.

Terrain negotiation is a Scout skill.

Group terrain negotiation is a Squad Leader skill.

I thought terrain negotiation was a scout skill....

Is your pet a Scout as well? I believe that would answer the intial questions....
