Srry, everyone. Ahazi's opening ceremony is Saturday night, and I urge all of you to create a novice scout and head on over there to participate. I will be there, and we will have to do ours another day.

Anro, your ideas?

Must have posted while I was writing. I agree we should join Zkull and the Azahi Antarian Rangers! Sunday after 5:00pm PT would work for me, or else during the week? I'd rather it was sooner than later. Please post your thoughts.

I agree about support personnel. If we'redoing guild huntson advanced planets, we'll definitely need a doctor or two.

I had an idea about our founding party.

ATM, the plan isfor all new members to meet at the hall and make the PA official. It will be a celebration, a grand opening! Fireworks and music are a must! Day and time are still to be determined.

On to my idea; once the festivities end, an inaugural huntshould take place. All the new members group up and headto Endor or another adventure planet and hunt into the night!

Let me know what you think.

This sounds great! I've already got my order in with an artisan friend for all the fireworks I can carry. And the inagural hunt sounds like a blast. I unserstand we can't do this on Saturday, but I think a weekend would be prefereable. That way it's easier to get people together on across the country. If it can't be done, it can't be done. Fortunately I'm on the east coast, so it probably won't start until after I get home from work. I just won't be able to hunt too late.

Well, I think Sunday sounds likea great idea - but if we are going to fit a hunt in the festivities may need to start earlier in the day (for us poor East Coast players). Let's say... 6 pm EST? All in agreement reply with an "aye" -those who can't make it please say "nay" but give a time and date that is better for you.

Please, remember that we must consider the majority of the Rangers, and not everyone's individual needs. It sucks, I know, but if we have to wait for everyone then FAR will never start =).

If we can't do this Sunday, the next option would be next Saturday. Unless, of course, enough of you reply demanding a weekday... that would be weird, though. =P

BTW just FYI. The guild is - as of now - Ranger Only. It was designed this way so that we can find out exactly what we need if another profession is to be accepted into the guild. They will have a lengthier screening process as the entire guild should get used to them first (i.e. paricipate in a few hunts to see how well they work with us). But for now, Ranger Only, ok?

LOL even I don't know the waypoint for the PA Hall offhand... but the directions Nerfbuger gave are dead-on. Go West from Theed (ask about Kam's - everyone knows it), hit the Freeport Marketplace, and go North until you see a Guild Hall with a sign "Flurry Antarian Rangers - Coming Soon". If you can't find it change your title to novice marksman and run back to Theed (j/k!!!)

As always, thanks for your support,

The site below was mentioned in another post, and while reading through it, I ran across a few statements which, atleast formally, support the addition of support classes such as Doctor's, Engineers, etc.

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/sw20030710hero

Taken straight from the JOINING section:

"When first entering the group, all members are evaluated for their pertinent skills and potential contributions to the organization. While most applicants eventually go on to become support personnel -- technicians, transport pilots, communications experts -- some do enter the training required to become a full-fledged Ranger.

Before becoming Rangers, trainees are called Explorers; at this rank, they accompany Rangers on dangerous missions and get field training but are not yet given independent duties. Eventually they become full-fledged Rangers and earn all the rights and responsibilities fitting of the rank.

There are no special requirements for joining the Antarian Rangers."

Now, following this train of thought, these support personnel were not "full-fledged Rangers". They did, however, perform an intricate role in making the Antarian Ranger's what they ultimately became: A highly respected, albeit Force Retarded, group of individuals dedicated to the Jedi cause. This can obviously beperceived in numerous ways; ie: But they were support personnel, not actual Rangers! They were the defunct, not the elite. or... **edit** straight! Anywho, that's just my2 cents on the subject. It's open to your interpretations...

Doh! Maybe I should have finished reading before posting....

"The life of an Antarian Ranger is not an easy one, and only the most dedicated and the most fit for the position thrive within the organization. Very few members of the Antarian Rangers actually earn the coveted rank of Ranger, as most become the support personnel for this elite group. This prestige class represents the true Rangers."

So, yah, again...open to interpretation, and the dedication/accuracy of the SWG guild...

Also:

"The Rangers are trained to be the masters of any terrain; they must be stealthy, observant, and capable if they are to assist the Jedi in the field. Upon reaching the rank of Ranger, members are typically assigned to a certain sector and, in some cases, to a particular Jedi who has requested their services. Not having a set uniform, Rangers are rewarded with a distinctive brown leather jacket reminiscent of those worn by off-duty members of sector defense forces."

Sweet? Although this is highly abusable, would there be a way to create such a jacket within the game? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the Domestic Arts branch, so I'm not sure how indepth the clothing creation system is, but is it possible to create a Ranger-specific jacket such as this?

I'd like to sign up as a friend of or associate to FAR, although I will be staying officially unguilded (for the time being) as I have friendships with several guilds and wouldn't want to slight any of them. In other words -- I'd like to be on your game-mail list, if you'll have me!

Unless something prevents me, I would love to attend the opening celebration (I haven't missed it have I?) and tag along on fundraising hunts. Looking forward to meeting more of my fellow rangers!

Ok... you just posted something to make a point, then posted something that contradicted your point (arguing with yourself?) and ended up asking something that belongs in the tailoring forums. I'm confused, Whastorm. What are you trying to say?

To re-iterate, trying to answer your original point,<FAR> is currently Rangers Only. Please read my prior post for the explanation why.

As of now, there are no "ayes" or "nays"... Let's hear it for Sunday! I need feedback!

Going to bed, Oyasumi.

Yes, I did indeed contradict myself. I was pointing out my own stupidity, and in turn branched off into some unrelated tangent. Aaaanywho, uhh...*poke*. And, in the spirit of making this post even remotely worthwhile, naye! I'm still waiting for my internet to be hooked up at home, so I'll be MIA for another two weeks or so, but damnit...I will make it to one o' dems meetin's I ben herin so much aboot! Uh, what? Are we there yet?

Hi all, I met Avido in game yesterday. I am interesting in joining the PA, however I have one concern.

My real life gf and in-game wife, Amiki, plays with me and I can't tell from reading these posts if she'd be welcome in the PA as well. She's not exactly a "support" class. She has some medic skills but she is mainly a Pistoleer.

So anyway, can someone clarify the policy? If she can't join with me, I'm likely not going to join as well.

Thanks,
