Another way to get decent post-nerf XP from Mask Scent is to use it while taking on low-level lairs of aggressive mobs. Put Mask Scent on and approach the lair. If you're not uncovered and you get XP, great. Clear the mobs around the lair, then attack the lair once and /peace. Another mob will spawn, usually within your Mask Scent radius. You'll get Mask Scent XP, then you can kill it and repeat the process. This way, Mask Scent gives you a little added bonus to your harvesting XP for aggresive mobs.

Of course, this only works on low-level aggressives, since everything else uncovers you. If one of the little critters does uncover you, it's not too big a deal - just continue working on the lair and remask when you can.
