I burned my way to Novice Ranger doing this a couple weeks ago:
Using Scout camps, I was getting about 700 camping XP every 4-6 minutes. But I would have to pull out about 22 pets to get the full amount. At Master Creature Handler I was able to pull each of my pets once, disband, and start over. This kept me from guessing and checking status for how many visitors, it was a bore, but I couldn't think of a faster way.

Vehicles pulled in camp also cound towards visitors. With the latest patch, you can pull vehicles using a hotkey/macro. I tried it this morning using an 8 second delay between calling and storing a speederbike. Dropped camp, started the macro, then let it run for about 10 minutes while I made some lunch. When I came back, my bike was arcing and sparking, but I got plenty of experience.
Not a great method, but one that works anyway.

It has been confirmed that the call/store method DOES increase current visitors and alsoincreases the rate at which XP can be gained.
Doing some further testing, Fred Skinner and I also found that somebody else calling/storing a pet in your camp increases the current visitor count, rather that the total visitor count (which doesn't boost XP that fast)
clearly this is a bug/exploit, since if the pet is stored...it's not really a visitor anymore.
I'd would inform Calculus, but since it works in ALL camps, it's a scout problem as well, and if they fix scouts, they'll fix the Rangers too.

I t works for speeder bikes, swoops and av-21's as well. I found it quicker, however, to just run in and out of my camps. The registered number of visitors climbs, and you are never far enough away for your camp to be disbanded.
I got 120 visits 8 minutes LOL. Overboard, ya. But fun! At least when you are bored outta your mind with this camping crud. LOL

Well you can call it an exploit if you like but I call it the best SWG news I've seen in a while. This camping XP is the worst grind is the worst of ever done in any game and for no good purpose either. Does anyone even use camps?

It's not the worst grind in the game. And it's better now than the first time I did it.
Unarmed 4 / Novice TK is worse.
Jedi is worse.
Force Sensitive to Jedi is far worse.
DE is worse.
And while it is exploitive, it's not going to be fixed anytime soon, so get it while you can.
I use camps often when I'm out loot whoring. But we are well aware of the need for camp attention and that's why we're trying to get attention for it post Combat Upgrade.

Arrrg. This is depressing to me. I've always maintained that the Scout and Ranger camping lines were really no problem - you just had to have something interesting to do while in the camp. My interesting thing to do was tame pets. Every single time I've leveled Ranger camping I've also been leveling Creature Handler. Hunt until my datapad is full, throw up a camp, tame and release all the pets, repeat. Wow! That camp time went by in a flash! I don't understand why people whine about this!
Now I see it was because the camp/pet thing is bugged. /smack self

heh my group uses camps all the time still ... after wandering around on endor or dath (which is not to safe of a place to setup a camp btw) ... or yavin or lok ... we fight till buffs are gone and then pop up camp for re buffing and wound healing ...
the people that just do the solo group thing hardly see a use for camps ... (or even traps for that matter) ... i quit doing solo groups and went back to grouping with friends ... actually makes the game fun again ...

I just mastered scout (on this toon)... and for some reason wasn't getting XP for crafting traps... which was wierd because I remembered it giving me the first time I did it..
I got my trapping XP really fast though, I would make up 10 or so wire mesh and I set up a "throw trap" macro that would basically throw all of them until gone at whatever my target was.. then buffed up and started attacking war gronda... at 250+ xp per success it went REALLY fast... faster than crafting would have i think...
Now that I am into ranger, crafting traps -is- giving me xp... so I am confuzled.. (and still getting more XP for -using- them than by making them
