Hi, I am the not nice Ranger/Scout poster. I dislike grinders, as they wear a title and know nothing of the class. Any class, any profession. You Tavian, are a grinder. You have confessed to not knowing some basic facts about the profession, nor have you bothered to read the outstanding guide at the top of the forum. Nor do you know that Brisc and I generally run a 1- 2 on silly questions. I wise azz, he answers. Unless he is not on, then I do both. He doesn't get to wise azz tho, he is the nice Scout.

It's just a game. It is supposed to be fun, not a job, not a grind, FUN.

I have said at least 100 times, it's not the destination, it's the journey. Chill. Find Hakai and get a rice ball.

BTW, re-read the post, the original post wanted to know how to grind a scout. Not how to grind scout, grind a scout. I told him.

Honestly, I'm not sure I follow some of your logic. I guess I am a grinder... I pretty much played as much of the game as I wanted other than Jedi and it seemed like a goal that might keep me interested in the game for another few months. Sorry if that annoys you.

Second, I generally don't read guides because I know the game pretty well. The reason I didn't know about crafting giving you survival xp, as I explained, is that I haven't played a scout since August (or was it Beta?). Back in them days, we didn't have these streamlined guide-driven grinds that everyone knew by heart. We figured things out. So yeah, while I was playing my other professions, I didn't scour the ranger boards to find out what the best way survival xp is to be gotten. Shame on me. Not only am I grinder, I'm a bad grinder. My village will never recover from the shame!

Third, you can hate on grinders all you want. I hate on people who insult others when they ask for help. We can get into a "I'm on the side of the angels!" argument here if you want.

But yeah, I guess the end goal for me here is to become embittered and insult anyone for any mistake they make. Man that would be sweet... Then I could play a single profession and get to know it so well, that whenever I knew something someone else did... well, they'd be sorry!

In all seriousness though, I understand your points. Maybe grinders are evil, maybe lazy grinders are the devil's spawn. Does that make it kosher to shout down a guy that asks a stupid question? Maybe. Maybe the world would be a better place if anyone who asked stupid questions were immediately booted from the game. As for me, I'll try to help the peoples. We were all newbs once, weren't we?

I know that you don't often come to the Scout boards - I've never seen you post here, so I assume you've not been reading, especially since you've not played a Scout since August, but if you did, you would know that this forum represents one of the rare places where you can ask any question, no matter how dumb, and get a good answer.

I wrote that guide in July and have been updating it as necessary. There isn't anything about the Scouting profession that isn't covered in there. That's why we direct folks there. It's not your typical one page guide. It has in depth info on everything.

Now, if he had asked us "What are some good tips on getting Scout XP" that would have been one thing. But to come in here and say "I'm grinding Scout, how can I get through it as quickly as possible". That's offensive to many folks in here, who love this profession and don't like it when it's treated like a chore, rather than something fun.

But we answered his question. It may not have been as diplomatic as our past posts, but we've been getting two or three of these a day, and I read every single post on this board. Every one. So those 18k posts - yup, read 'em all. And I comment on nearlye every thread to. And it's extremely frustrating when people can't simply scroll through and look at the other thousand posts asking the same question - or even at the stickies that answer most of 'em.

Please, before you judge our community based on one thread, take the time and read some of the others. You'll see that despite some of our testiness with grinders, the Scout forum is very n00b friendly. We're overall pretty friendly.

Hey, finally found out the deal on kreetles. Was re-doing Jabba's and they darn things were in the way for every freaking mission. Not that it mattered, but they broke my maskscent every time too. They totally suck, lil green con red aggro? Xmas balls they are.

Anyhow, to make B happy, I stompeda load of them.

Rancors? Not usually. Kreetles? Like clockwork.

what Yasmari are to Jedi...Kreetle and Rasps are to Scouts......they have like an anti scent bubble around em.
