from what I've read on the reviews about this module, the only real reason I'm happy with it is it'll allow me to free up skill points to put toward master doctor and still be able to harvest at an at least somewhat reasonable rate. I feel completely naked without the terrain negotiation and mask scent of exploration but I'm willing to let that drop to novice scout if this droid has enough of an effect to make doing my own resource harvesting somewhat feasible.
And that's exaclty what the rangers fear... that you'll be able to dump all your points and still get a decent harvest while they've got tons of points put into their skills and get much less benefit out of the droids.

Man... and I just yesterday chided a guildie of mine for mentioning the harvesting droids in the list of things that have helped render Ranger almost useless. Turns out he was right.
How about a special Ranger-only (Tracker-only?) function on the module that lets a Ranger/droid harvest a second resource from each corpse, perhaps at a 50% reduced rate? I think they should get *some* bonus to compensate for the fact that they require higher-level modules just to break even. And I'm not just saying that because I'm thinking of becoming one.

I still like my two comments... Make the module work like veghash (maybe like a +5 veghash, so you need to stack them for better effect) or maybe unstackable like a flat +16-20 veghash. That way everyone sees a similar gain off them.
That, or make it so rangers do NOT get hit by the 40% penalty to harvesting when grouped with others. Those would be my suggestions.

I am a M. Doc/TkM and have hunt 1.
I use +29 Veg and a 100 doid and here is what I have found.
1. I get about 30% better yield per kill. The % depends on the size of the creature due to rounding I believe.
2. It is a bit slow which stinks since the veg only lasts about 11 min a pop.
3. The droid is a pain to call/store evertime I move.
4. The droid is tempermental. Sometimes it goes and sometimes is just sits there. (yes I use /tellpet harvest).
5. I like harvesting while I kill. This makes up a bit for the slowness of the droid.
IfI amhunting something that has a high cpu then it is worth the trouble if not then I leave it in the data pad.
Since I only have hunt 1 the doid give a better pop than my very expensive veg. Since I am hunting avain which goes for about 100 cpu the droid will pay for itself in no time.
