I talked to Paks and she said she wasnt going to apply. I knew JB wasn'ta choice for the same reasons Sojourner saidand Phen'ix probaly wouldnt because of school. I had talked to Hakai about this on IM and he and i were both applying. I hadn't said or done anything because I didnt want to jinx or hurt my chances. But if this is my chances for the soapbox then allow me to say why I applied and feel i could fill the position.
I started in Beta 3 as a Wookie Scout and never left the scout/ranger professions since then. Ingame I am a tireless promoter of the professions and there usefullness as both a resource provider, money maker, and just something fun to do and roleplay with. When i came into SWG from World War II Online I had been the Special Events Cooridnator and ran their news site both as a volunteer. So I understand how to talk to the devs and usally have a good feeling for what information they are asking for. Its this background that I think best qualifies me for the position.
As a community leader I have done my job as well. There have been times were I wasn't as professional as I should have been but we all have those times. Ingame and out i try to help the new players and those who are new to the profession get the most out of it.
In the case of Scout I have ideas for what Id like to see move forward with the profession like everyone else. But thanks to both the scout and ranger professions having the quality of correspondents they have had i never spoke up. Id like the chance to be the voice of the scouts and help to promote our profession on a higher level.

ugh, been away from home the past couple of days.
Here we go.
I am current an active member of the Scout Message boards under the name of Hakai.
I have played as an active scout on the Intrepid Galaxy almost as long as i have played Star Wars Galaxies as a whole.
I would like to believe that i posses a somewhat knowledgeable understanding of the game mechanics which represent the scout profession.

I am a very effective communicator, and can organize valid issues and points in a coincise and understandable manner.
On top of this i have been a very active member in the scout boards for quite some time. (To enunciate this fact, Simply mention a mystery person and rice balls on the Scout Boards, and all of the scouts will know of whom you speak. *sagely silence*)

Because of these qualities i request that i am allowed to take the position of Scout Correspondent until i'm dead or you find someone better. So help me Delta.....er..........God.
*edit* and yes, i sent it to the email address.........lol

I'm cool with Fodder or Hakai. I think either will represent the profession well.
Although if you could ever get JBMat to apply, he's be entertaining, that's for sure.
For the entire two weeks he'd stay on as correspondent

Profession Correspondents are NOT here for our entertainment! That's what Real Life politicians are for.

Phenix, shown his that he is a dedicated and thoughtful defender of the Scout and Ranger professions in numerous posts all throught the forums. Where ever there professions trying to take our abilities, he'll be there. Where ever there are cries for nerfs, he has already debunked them. Whenever people just don't understand and value what we do he's all over it. Alas, as above elitism might rear its ugly head...
I hadn't checked this thread, since I wasn't applying, but I'm very happy to hear that I was on the top 5 list. I definately will always do my part to protect scout and ranger from other professions. Participating in the scout and Ranger professions is definately one of the best parts of my day. As for elitism, I try not to let the fact that I know scouts and rangers are better than anyone else go to my head.
seriously though, you guys got a great corr. in JB. He's a lot like me, only without the filter between the anger center of the brain and the mouth (or the fingers). I expect great things out of JB. I'm sure there won't be any organic samplers (man, I can't believe that thread is still around) whilst he is the corr. All I know is that there will be many good times ahead. Plus, go back and read some of JB's posts. They're hilarious now that his name is blue.
Maybe when JB starts flaming Tiggs, I'll apply for the position.
