/agree with this. That would be a good way to make survival xp more entertaining. You would have to put a delay, say 30 seconds. That way, either without a camp, or while in camp, you could forage. It's not like the stuff we forage is so great. I mean, yea it gives some buffs when you eat it, but I usually to forget to eat my food before hunting.

This is a great idea.

We need something to help us through the grind of harvesting and camping!

Yeah... Survival is growing way to slow. I don't seem to have this bad an issue with other professions. As far as avoiding creating a new exploit with it, just make the results painfully small. And perhaps prevent Forraging in camps.... No wait, I take that back! (darn)

Count me in. The only reason why I forage and medical forage is because camping is so boring. I think they should have created forageable items which were requiredin campsite crafting. Then, a scout could producecamp-types based on the items they foraged(i.e. soft wood, wooly leather, small twigs), coupled with their current scouting skill, which would then determine what quality ortype of camp the scout could create. Certain foraged items used for crafting the camp would:

1. Yield an x amount of scouting exp.

2. Produce various types of campsites depending on what kind of items were foraged or harvested.

3. Different campsites could also vary in healing properties and decorumdepending on their quality.

Just a suggestion

Hells yes, I'm thinking of not being a ranger because how **edit** boring it is to get camping exp, the rest of the tree is hella-cool, but the **edit** camping is so lame, add foraging and it'd be SOO much better

I had a thread going on the SWG discussion forumabout this a few days back. The general consensus I got was 'quit whining, shut up, and afk camp'. So that's what I did (to grind through Wilderness Survival IV, at least...more to come in the ranger line).

However, I do agree, and have bugged, that Wilderness Survival could use more diversity in its xp. Foraging should give wilderness xp. Crafting camps and traps should give wilderness xp. Fishing should give wilderness xp. Hell, I'd even settle for raising the xp caps per level, or lowering the camping experience, just to give me *something* other than sitting on my ass to gain experience.

Well, when I first saw the Survival Tree, with camps and such, I thought we would actually have to build a camp, not just let it pop up.

I thought that you start out by building the fire, then the two post things with fire on them, then the chair, cot, then the tent.

If they spread things out, it could be a lot easier to get XP. I really want to be able to crawl into a tent, and lay there for a while(for RP'ing purposes). I want to be able to lie down on the cot, and act as if I were reading a book.

Things like that could make the camps much more enjoyable. I know that these are kind of far fetched ideas, but, I think they could work.

I would love to just build a fire, and have a few seats, instead of having a tent and all of that.

But, I do agree. I think my solution could fix it though.
