Thread: How are we supposed to make money?

Get paid again...get missions for milkable creatures. Milk it, kill it, harvest it.
I never make much money selling creature resources or running missions. I get bored with all of that really easily unless I'm in a group.
The best way I've found to make money early on is to get harvesters going. You can get a BER 9 wind generator for around 3K. Put another 6K into maintenance for it and find a concentration around 30-60% (it's not likely you'll find better). A week later you'll have about 20,000 units of power. Sell the power for 2cpu and you profit 31K. It's a great way to make your credits work for you.
Can someone tell Delta that smugglers get better mission payouts because they are smugglers?
And they pay less for stuff from faction dudes too.
Small but happy little benefits they get.

Just explain that you are a low level character and you'd like to hunt stuff on the 5 starter planets. Often someone will mention something they will pay generously for
Alternatively just join group hunts and run lots of missions. There are always groups forming at Coro starport. You can, if you're careful, join a rancor hunt. Just take it slow and only shoot at things that the others have already attacked, otherwise you might shoot the wrong thing and get yelled at
Doing a bit of both is of course a good plan too
The harvester idea works well and there are other schemes to get rich quick, it's actually quite fun thinking them up
If you are that new, and still working up scout, you are doing pretty well. Trust me, thats more then I had at that point in the game. I didn't figure out how to "really" make money until ranger. For scouts and rangers the money maker is selling resources. The key factor really is going after the high quality resources when they are spawning, and then selling it. Sell it either on the bazzar, or find a customer list to sell to.
Resource resources resources. Then the second thing is to get missions for the critters that have the resource you want.

Julak, I see you are on Bria. Contact me in game, Teranus. Im a hunt master for the Rangers of Bria. RoB. We run organized hunts for orders of high quality resources. Our average price is 15-50cpu for stuff. Go to the Bria forum and look up Rangers of Bria. We have a main thread explaining who are and what not. And a weekly thread for people putting in orders, and the hunters talking and planning hunts.
Right now we are hunting for Dath avian and herb. Both at 40cpu. Since we hunt in well organized groups, we are very successful, and rarely loose to death. At the end of the hunt, the hunt master will buy our harvest from you at the price we are getting from the customer. We have many low level scouts on our hunts all the time. And you get great xp, and training right then and there. With a few master rangers around
