Thread: Maskscent Acting Up Again?

With this publish, has anyone noticed maskscent breaking more often?
I suppose it could have been bad luck, but last night on Yavin just about every aggressive lair I passed caused my scent to break. Considering I did a nine kilometer hike, getting spawns every hundred or so yards, that was a lot of breakage.
I have heard from one other person that noticed a difference as well. Is it working for everyone else like normal or are you noticing this, too?

yea, but before pub 9. I believe there is a post in ranger also about it being more flaky lately. Things agro you with out it breaking, breaking a lot in certain situations. etc. I know I have been getting agroed with out it breaking in the last couple months.

Right now its mostly happening on Yavin. The Master BE im concealing is holding conceal while my master ranger mask scent breaks a lot.

I've noticed this too... at first I thought I was paranoid (but it turns out they really are out to get me)... anyway.... Maskscent has been breaking a lot more now. I'm also getting aggroed without maskscent breaking. Not fun at all.

I am still noticing a problem myself. One side effect is that I ran past several groups of howling plumed rasps and it did not break once.

My alt char is a BE with 4 0 4 0 scout and wearing +24 maskscent clothing, i ran the squill cave looking for the hermit and certain of the squills aggro'd without the maskscent breaking. not sure if it is intentional or not.

1.
I have been getting detected from great distances, when there are no creatures in visual range. I would then mask again only to be detected again by nothing...
This happens about 5 - 6 times a day on all planets.
2.
I get Detected passing most Hostile Mobs( any mob weather it's Mutant Rancors or Kreetles or Nunas), "for some reason though, never single creatures", and am re-detected the second i put mask back on (sometimes upto 10 times in a row from a fair distance).
3.
I am attacked by Hostile mobs without mask being broken at all, and while runnig from the creature, additional creature mobs i pass through also agro me without breaking mask.
4.
I find that while riding a mount, Mask scent is utterly usless, i get detected with every mob & single creature I pass, both far & close & the second i re-mount after applying it again i get detected again & again. (that may be an intentional move by the Devs though).
Now i have taken my scout skills to Master hoping that this would improve my chances, but after 4 days of trialing it, i have found that it makes no difference at all.
Even wearing a full set of Bio-Clothes to bring my mask skill from +100 to +100/+164, it still makes no difference, all the above items still occur.....
So Yes..., I'd say without reasonable doubt, that Mask scent is broken again, but then again it may not be mask its self that is broken, but rather, the creatures themselves have been played round with by the Devs.
I am thinking that the detect Vs Mask has somehow been modified to detect under certain circumstances & may have even been modified so that Mobs combine their Detect Vs mask.
This could be why Mobs are detecting mask whereas single creatures are not, and also why Single creatures will detect a mounted player.
Also, the Distance for mobs to detect could have been screwed up aswell, hence players are being detected when there is nothing on Radar or within acctual visual range.
If this is indeed the case, then i'd have to say that Scouts & Rangers Proffessions arefairly usless & not worth doing, atleast untill they fix or lower the Detection capabilities of all creatures.

OK...., here's one more item to add to the list.
I have been finding also that Creatures detect me without the Message that i have been detected comming up.
It neither shows on the Screen or in the chat Box, the Mask just breaks without warning, this happens fairly often now within a few seconds of me Masking.
This one is a real bummer, Because if I am Busy watching a heard of Mutant Rancors, i can't always watch my Status bar to make sure Mask is still on.
I really hope thay fix all this crap soon, i'm really getting boared with all these bugs, i already lost 3 family member & 2 Friends to Horizons, Because of Constant Bugs in this game...
I just might Follow them over soon....

I have been in the squill cave lately. Doing the hermit quests. This happened to me both solo in the cave and grouped.
I apply mask scent before entering, and start walking through the cave. If I got to a area with 3 or more squills I went to a walk. For the most part my mask scent protected me.
But several times, I would get agroed and attacked, with no message about "despite your attempts to camouflage yourself, a creature has detected you" and I still had the little nose icon. It also would actually break once or twice and I get agroed. But not every time I got agroed did it break. Again, this happened with me both solo, no pets, and in a group.

Maskscent is is broken...... Expol IV and +34 BE cloths(I know after 25 it doesn't mater)and Crazed Durnis still see me everytime. This is annoying to say the least. I have more succuss walking up to a critter to sample it WITHOUT Maskscent on the I do with it on. Crack the whip on the Devs and get this issue fixed.
