Thread: Mask Scent is Still Stuft after 12 months!!!!

What is the use of having a skill that the Devs have never seen fir to fix...
With Master Scout, Plus a full set of BE Mask/Camo Clothing, ia scout will still get detected by nearly every creature/Mob 9 times out of ten.
Lvl 45 creatures and lower should not have the ability to detect Master Scouts"with 100/125 at all...!!!
Anything over Lvl 45 should also detect only about 10% of the time.
Only the Toughest creatures should be able to break the mask skill constantly...!!!
I'm really getting sick of having to re-apply every 30sec with lower Lvl critters.
There's no Difference between Scout 2/0/0/0 & Master Scout when Mask scent is concerened...!!
Please DEV's Balance this out so that Master Scout is acctually worth having.

Quit running around really low level mobs (kreetles and rasps seem to break maskscent) and really high level mobs (Krayts and Gorax).
Try walking, or crawling. No kidding, it works.
Dunno what you are doing wrong. Mine works fine,and my max is only about 118. I wander Endor pretty much at will without a break, Dathomir is good to go too. Trips to the village always give me some more scouting XP as I wend my way through the constant aggro mobs.
Remember, having 125 doesn't mean your skill level is 125, only means you wait less to reapply. Your base skill is still 100, and that is what the percentage roll works from. The extra 25 goes to reducing the time wait between applications.

IM with JB Mask Scents been working great lately. But its based on speed, as it should be, so if your on a bike or mount it has a better chance of breaking. It doesnt make you invisable it just increases your chances of blending into your enviroment.
And actually above CL45 you want it to work? Your applying mud and meat to your body and your thinking its some super skill? And actually mask scent at explore 4 and mask scent at master scout act significantly different then mask scent at explorer 2.

A Master Scout is equal to a level 45 creature? I don't think so. Now a Master Ranger is a different story. Mask Scnet works fine. It masks your scent. There's still things out there that can smell you. Honestly, I have no problem slipping by everything except for the level 150+ creatures. And nothing should escape their attention. My problem, as was said, are those level 5 rasps and kreetles.

I was using the 45 as an example. As a Ranger i have used it to hide from kimos and giant kimos plus all nature of stuff on Endor. But it usually breaks on the Giant Dune Kimos.

Na mine is still breaking consistantly, even after trying all that stuff.
As Specially on Dant.
I go out to do a Imp Base that happens to haveone or twoQuenker or Hurtonroaming about their camp, or any number of other Critters, im revealed pretty much right away 9 times out of 10.
Even when walking or Crawling & "in cover", I get Sniffed out.
Even if i mask again right away, i get sniffed out again in a few seconds.
Also, When theres a Whole Mob about, i seem to get Agro'd without Mask even breaking.
Dunno if this is just a Dantooine thing or not though, i havn't tried sneaking around any of the Adventure planets, Niothing there for Rebs "No Terminals".

Dantooine, like Yavin, has a higher density of aggros then even Dath. I have a city on Dantooine so I face it all the time. Your right about how it breaks on Dantooine. But this is more because of shear weight of numbers. When your coming up towards a group of huurtons or quenkers you are facing mask scent checks against each not the group as a whole. This is where more likely its dropping. Since the game does everything like a dice roll there is always that chance at critical failure no matter what level your mask scent. And it just might be the case thats what your seeing. There isnt a fix, nor should there be, for this.
Mask scent isnt meant to be perfect. Conceal is meant to have a better chance of hiding you and lately thats the case. But like we said remember that the faster your movement and your body position whether standing or prone matter. And unless your holding shift down your running.
Ther best profession to teach us about mask scent are the bio-engineers. Since to them it literally is a case of life or death

No problems here either.
Are you wearing any meats or processed foods on your person? Have you ingested any alcohol?
Quenkers apparently like to sniff my ass when i'm loaded with brandy. Never understood why.

I am just as sick and tired of the same lowbie critters breaking mask scent as the rest of you are.
If we can get a list compiled of the types of creatures, I can get it to GreenMarine and have him take a look at it.
That's much more productive than just complaining.

Quick question-- why is it that 9/10ths of the threads I post in, I or someone else I knoweventually ends up talking about excessive drinking at one point or another? Is it 'cause I'm Irish?
