Well..Food is nothing more than gaining strengthback.. So what if we could /forage some +500 stamina (for example) onions, but they would only last for around 20 secs, just enough to recover fast! In that case the stuff we could forage wouldnt affect the buffing industries, and it would still be a big help if you want to recover fast!
What do YOU think we should be able to forage instead of the junk that we find now?

I want forage to work the way that the Devs originally intended it to work - it was supposed to be a reason for us to explore. You go out in the wilderness and you forage. Sometimes you get food (which should be brought in line with the Chef Revamp), sometimes bait, and then - depending on where you go - cool loot.
For example - you go out in the krayt graveyard, and forage, if you get lucky, you pull out a pearl. Or you pull out a bone that can be used in weapon crafting. You go to Yavin 4, you forage near one of the temples, you could pull out an antique lightsaber. Or you pull out a crystal. Something along those lines.
They ran out of time when originally designing the function, and it's been on the back burner ever since. Once the CU is done, I'm going to be pushing for forage to gain some usage to make it worthwhile.

AS long as the foraging skills limits the loot. We dont want novice scouts foraging crystals or everyone will have novice only. Somehow the skill should determine the best loot (of course)

this sounds like a great idea, there would just have to be something in place to stop rangers and scouts from running an afkforage macro all night long, but something to stop that shouldnt be too hard to put in place. and i would absolutly love for forage to be useful for something other than cheap pet food, the description in one of the boxes of the ranger skill tree says something about being able to forage rare items, i was all excited when i got that box and was hoping to forage something cool, but was rewal disapointed when i couldnt forage anything new

AFK Rangers?! Ack now theres something i wouldnt want to see. Since we can get up to 3 foraged items at once at master ranger our inventory would be maxxed pretty quickly.

You should get survival experience for foraging. I also agree that you should be able to dig up various treasures/loot if you are in the correct place, and have position relative items.
Also, maybe they could change treasure maps to give better items, but it would be harder to find and you'd have to forage up the treasure. Just a thought, maybe that' st too biased towards Scouts...

I think that the foraging skill is fine. Mind you I am new and am stil fighting level six creatures, but the skill feels vey rewarding- I rejoice even when I just find bait (although I think I spend more time fishing than anything else :-P ). There is one thing that doesn't make sense though- when I find something and forage again, I can usually get a whole load of stuff right there. I got about five jars of bait and two odd food items from one little patch of ground once. Really, I know it is a game, but realistically there wouldn't be all that stuff right there. I can forage twenty times and find nothing, but on the twenty first try I find something and get a whole load of stuff fromt hat little spot. I know it makes the skill easier to use, but it isn't very realistic in my opinion.

Don't you get up to 3 items at Master Scout?

the only problem withthat is some morons would take advantage of that and just run a macro for forage and a /smile macro to keep them fgoing. now that restarts dont happen often people will just sit there for days pulling out pearls. probably with alts. way to advoid thast is make it so you can only pull stuff like that at master?
