What a pleasent suprise for the most unloved profession in SWG
meh, as I've said elsewhere, it really doesn't matter where it came from. SWG had mounts and player-controlled creatures before WoW, but I bet nobody there complained when mounts were added, did they? Why? Because it's a good idea, and adds to the gameplay. Same thing here. Let me tell you a little story about cake. In Austria, there's a very famous recipe for torte. I believe it's Panzertorte, but don't quote me on that. It's named after a single hotel where the recipe was invented. Now you can get that anywhere in Austria. and it's delicious. When it was served in other restaurants, I didn't complain that they "stole" the recipe. I just tasted the cake. If it's good cake, why worry about where the original recipe came from?
Same deal here. Who cares where the idea came from? All games that use a d20 system have taken their ideas from somewhere else. So why get hung up on those details. Just play the game and quit worrying about where the idea came from. So long as it works and doesn't make combat imbalanced, I couldn't care less. I mean, you could make the claim that the idea of decorating your own house was stolen from "Barbies Dream House". But hey, I still enjoy decorating my hunting school, and I don't care about where the idea came from.

Ahhhh... but this only holds true if it is a good system. They no doubt thought the same thing about the EQ level system and see where that has got us!
P.S. The Germans are great. you have to love a country who would name their tanks after cake!

At the same time, the good chefs are out there making their OWN creations.
Twinkie anyone?

New recipies and old recipies aren't mutually exclusive. For example, WoW took a page from SOE and added mounts and player-controlled creatures. Then they added to it. SWG can still add a new flavor to this old recipe.
My point is, SWG is (well, was) the trend setter. Now they are resorting to being the unoriginal game that wants to give people what their competition has, in hopes of maintaining status quo.
WoW took from SWG and added somthing to the recipe. There no reason to believe that SWG can't take what WoW has and add their own flavor to it.
