For all you CH hopefuls, take a look. And if you have time, go try it out on TC - the more people the better!

Yeah this might bring me back in game for awhile. What a suprise this was this morning. I still have my token respec and had planned on getting out of MCH but WOW what a list. I guess you correspondents knew this was coming. But the rest of us had no clue.

What a pleasent suprise for the most unloved profession in SWG

I think your a bit Mistaken. CH does need some love but i think ranger takes the cake for most unloved (by the devs at least) But yea GOO CH. is it just me or does it seem alot like the WoW Hunter Pet system.

meh, as I've said elsewhere, it really doesn't matter where it came from. SWG had mounts and player-controlled creatures before WoW, but I bet nobody there complained when mounts were added, did they? Why? Because it's a good idea, and adds to the gameplay. Same thing here. Let me tell you a little story about cake. In Austria, there's a very famous recipe for torte. I believe it's Panzertorte, but don't quote me on that. It's named after a single hotel where the recipe was invented. Now you can get that anywhere in Austria. and it's delicious. When it was served in other restaurants, I didn't complain that they "stole" the recipe. I just tasted the cake. If it's good cake, why worry about where the original recipe came from?

Same deal here. Who cares where the idea came from? All games that use a d20 system have taken their ideas from somewhere else. So why get hung up on those details. Just play the game and quit worrying about where the idea came from. So long as it works and doesn't make combat imbalanced, I couldn't care less. I mean, you could make the claim that the idea of decorating your own house was stolen from "Barbies Dream House". But hey, I still enjoy decorating my hunting school, and I don't care about where the idea came from.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I never ment to imply that it was a bad thing or was stolen. i Was simply stating that it reminded me of it. And it does seem to be extremely similar. Honostly i think its a good thing and a step in the right direction. now if they would only roll back to pre-cu we would be in buisiness

Ahhhh... but this only holds true if it is a good system. They no doubt thought the same thing about the EQ level system and see where that has got us!

P.S. The Germans are great. you have to love a country who would name their tanks after cake!

At the same time, the good chefs are out there making their OWN creations.

I'm not saying new types of cakes aren't great too. But hey, if a cake is very popular and tastes good, your restaurant would be foolish not to offer it. New recipies and old recipies aren't mutually exclusive. For example, WoW took a page from SOE and added mounts and player-controlled creatures. Then they added to it. SWG can still add a new flavor to this old recipe.

My point is, SWG is (well, was) the trend setter. Now they are resorting to being the unoriginal game that wants to give people what their competition has, in hopes of maintaining status quo.

WoW took from SWG and added somthing to the recipe. There no reason to believe that SWG can't take what WoW has and add their own flavor to it.

i will build on your Cake thing Phenix. Yea if you invented the cake and someone else claimed it at your own. wouldnt you feel a bit jaded. SOE is taking someone elses recipie and taking their name on it. and No SWG did not start the mount buisiness. It was in EQ long before SWG came out. and you can continue to trace it back. Its come down to the point that i expect SOE to provide unique material. Granted i Like the WoW formula to pets. i thought it was fun. But this is a near carbon copy and i hope they plan on addidng to this idea. If you take a cake for the exact recipie it will never be your creation. but if you change the recipie then hey you have yourself a home grown idea
