I used to be a master scout, and then I dropped it, and now I want to pick it back up again (for bounty hunter ). Anywho, last time I went up the trapping skill line it took me FOR-EV-ER (for those of you who have seen Sandlot ). I threw traps at flesh-eating chubas, diseased nunas, capper spineflaps, and nightspiders. Now, I would like to find out a way to get trapping exp faster, but so far I am unable to do so. Could someone please direct me to what creatures I could hunt at different trapping levels? Keep in mind that I'm not a ranger, so trapping rancors won't do, they don't affect them. Thanks ahead of time for any info

Swim,

Nightspiders and hermit spiders are best for lower levels.

Upper levels (3-4) you can generally hit the next higher tier of critters. Your Bolles, Falumps, etc.

Last time I mastered Scout I did the trapping line in like 3 hours trapping Foaming Vynocks outside of Deric on Talus. I used all the traps that were available to me and it was a breeze.....

..... too bad I dropped BH at 2/4/4/4 ( invest was sucking the life out of the game) and slowly dropped all my scout skills ....

..... Now Im going to master Ranger, and get to do it all over again .......

Good thing Scout is a fun profession, got me one of them fancy harvesting droids he's a +109, he harvests better than I do

lol. When you said go to dant and throw traps at the creatures, will they still affect them, even though i don't have even trapping 1? And foaming vynocks, i'll be able to trap them w/o trapping 1? just making sure don't want to spend extra money on traveling that i don't have hehe

I just tried hitting Pikets with Trapping 2 and no luck. Quenker(sp?) gave me 250 or something around there but it was a rare hit.

Guys,

Here's the deal - you guys with great combat skills have got to remember when you were noobs if you want to get the trapping done quickly.

You aren't going to hit quenkers with trapping 2 - at least not often enough for it to be at all useful.

You've gotta be hitting the lower level mobs. Go back to Naboo and Tat, and start killing Hermit Spiders and Womp Rats. Get buffed and unequip your weapon. If your traps are hitting, you'll blow through it very quickly.

When you get to 3 and 4, you can start going for the bigger critters. Same when you hit Ranger. I mastered Ranger trapping in about two nights worth of trapping Fambaas (and this was in August.)

Listen to your daddy here. He's absolutely right. First two levels of trapping are all on n00b critters. Recycle the meat and hide and bone into more traps. To use low level traps effectively, you've go to use them on low level creatures. You have to get back to your n00b roots. It's the only way.

Once you hit Trapping III, you can use the glow-wire on sharnaffs and fambaas, preferably in a mixed melee/ranged group where everyone benefits from the effect of the trap.

This is how I did the Trapping line in just over an hour (after trap production).

Trapping I - III: I use Vynocks (NOT Foaming)just outside Coronet, that appear there regularly. I put one trap into two toolbar slots and spam the Vynock, switching back and forth and replacing the traps as I go so there is no gap in my throwing and so I don't inadvertenly kill the prey before reaping all it's benefits. It only takes one Vynock perskill box. I continue this until I cap the level out, then run back to Coronet for some quick, free training and I'm back out in the field in a matter on minutes. Each Vynock only gives 79 XP per successful trap hit, but you will hit 99.9% of the time. I cannot stress how fast this adds up!

*NOTE: Produce the traps for the above in a camp and you'll be earning XP for both camping and trap production. Maximize your time!

Trapping IV: Simply hop a shuttle to Dathomir and head North of the Smuggler Outpost. Make about a dozen Glow Wire Traps and grab a Gaping Spider, then repeat the above procedure. Each spider will grant 300 XP per successfull trap hit and you'll be done in a matter of minutes. You won't hit as often, but you won't miss an obscene amount of times either.

Once again, this is how I did it. I hope it helps other people.

I made two sets of each trap. I was in a group of 4 and we did dewback/bantha missions on Tat. I did nothing but through traps. I got Trap IV in 6 missions. Between missions I would replenish my traps in the camps (this was a while ago when you needed camps to call a vehicle). Don't fire a shot and just chunk traps all day.

I thought the best way was crazed durnis on corellian. Wire Mesh traps I think cause no damage, and can be done repeatedly, and since durnis run so slow, you can usuallyout run them till yourabout 35m away, throw one, and then keep running in circles maintaining your distance.
