Thread: Scout Camping!!!!!!
Ok ppl this is my second post about this and maybe I am a noob but I just dont get how to camp!!
I get the skins & bones press Ctrl D then click on the camp icon but I can't do nothing with it. What the hell am I doing wrong? I know that you also have to be far away from the city too. Anyways can someone give me a detailed way on how the hell you camp?? What am I doing wrong?!
What msgs are you getting? Does it build the camp? Do you have the camp kit in your inventory after making it?
Give a little bit more info.
If you're pressiing cntrl D to see your camp kit, your camp kit must be in your datapad instead of inventory--this is probably a bug.
You need to open your Generic Crafting Tool and click the tab that says General. You will see the choice--probably right at the top--for making a Basic Camp Kit. Select the camp kit and hit next (or just double click). Then the items in your inventory will show up along with the camp schematic. Double-click the hides, double-click the bones and hit next or create or whatever the button is called.
When the crafting machine is done, the camp will appear in your inventory. Double-click it--in a buildable location.
Okay, first of all, when you swear like that, it's really unbecoming and it makes you look stupid, and we both know you're not stupid. It took me a second to figure out from your post, but I understand what's going on. So here you go:
First of all, when you look at your Datapad, that shows the schematics you have. So that camp icon is just showing you have the plans to make a camp. But, to actually craft a camp, you need the Generic Crafting Tool. You may not have gotten one of these when you started--I'm not sure if I did or not. If you didn't, then you need to go into town and buy one from an Artisan. Just ask around--I'm sure they won't be hard to find.
Once you have enough hide and bones (I don't remember how much it takes from beta and I haven't been albe to play today, sorry), then you go to your Inventory (Ctrl-I) and use the Generic Crafting Tool. It's pretty simple--this step is described on page 31 of your manual, and the crafting tool is described in detail starting page 160. Read that at some point, but you can probably figure it out on your own just for a camp.
Now, once you craft the camp, you'll have a Basic Camp Kit in your inventory. To use it, just go out in the wilderness away from buildings and select the kit from your inventory. It'll either set up the camp for you automatically, or it will tell you you're too close to a building/in a non-build zone. After a second, a lawn chair will pop up. Sit back, enjoy the fire, and you're all set.
Welcome to Star Wars Galaxies! I'm also a scout, and I can't wait to get in and start exploring. Safe journies!
Since always, but I ran around for almost three weeks before I realized it, hehe.
In your datapad, there are two tabs: Waypoints and Schematics. The second tab has a list of all your schematics. ![]()
LOL, Ravens, you're right, it wasn't that bad at all--I was probably just really tired, and frustrated from not getting in the servers. Your post irritated me because you claimed it was your second, but wherever you posted the first one, it wasn't here.
Anyway, sorry about that. No hard feelings, I hope!
Hehe, I remember my first camp. Took me forever to figure out just what to do, hehe. I'm glad I have a manual now.
Also note that unless they fixed it (which is highly unlikely since it went unfixed for a VERY long time), the no-build region around Dearic, Talus is around 2500m instead of the normal 1000m.
Once your server gets going a bit, and crafters start placing harvesters, you can always tell where the no-build zone ends by the wall of harvesters that pop up suddenly (see, crafters don't like travelling any further than they have to!)
