Thread: Last bit of scout Xp **edit**, what a chore
Well, I have to say, these last 10k till I can hit CH are killing me. Thus far I have played the game and have not considered or really had the need for 'grinding' through any of the skills.
However, getting through this last bit of scout XP for CH has seemed like a chore. Coupled with the fact that everyone and their brother sems to be a CH these days, and it's almost disheartning.
Course, the thought of that down the road I might be able to raise and tame mounts for folks does keeep my hopes up.
Anyway, guess there wasn't a 'big picture' reason for the post. I know we have all either been through this or are going through it...but boy does it make the play sessions long some nights.
Uhr,
We feel your pain.
Hopefully, one of those long nights, you'll pass out and hit your head on the keyboard and have a vision of Obi-Wan standing over you, telling you to go Ranger, and you decide to give up on CH and do something useful. ![]()

Guys
Put on a good movie, sit by your computer and set up camps and sample resources. Worked for me and I finished survival long ago. I still nee trapping 4 and hunting 4.
ILiado, Tyrena, Valcyn
To be honest Delta, the more I see Joe Numbnuts and his Rancor walking around in a cantina, the more I am leaning to Ranger ![]()
I might keep enough CH for the possible ability of taming my own mount, but the Ranger/Bio-Engi mix does have some growing appeal.
lol!! o yeah wait till you get to ch and find out it suxxx asssssss!!!
they took the soul out of that profession a few patches ago. too bad to it could have really been an interestingone now listen to the others and go for ranger or something sorry for the bad news
There's nothing wrong with CH. They just got a bad rep for their uberness, and the power-gamers that exploited that uberness. I find playing a creature handler to be fun. At this point in time, Rangers are not fun to play. I have a lot of faith in the new Ranger skills coming (obviously), but I'm not entirely sure that they will revive the class.
Look at the Tracking skill. Everyone believes that this is a much needed skill. Unfortunately, the world is so dynamic that this may be more of a curse then a benefit. Imagine tracking a creature down only to find that it was someones mission and they are currently destroying it, or it dissapears before you get there. Not a big deal, but a possible annoyance.
Will the new traps really be all that great? If they are overpowered then they will be nerfed. They may sound cool, but will they be easy to identify and thus pull a creature across them?
The hunting blind sounds pretty cool, but will it suffer from the same problems as tents ("to close to a lair...")? What kind of resources will I be required to carry around to build them (as well as traps)?
Don't get me wrong, I love the new changes. I love them enough that I've also become a ranger. We'll just have to see if the proposed changes are "fun."
Cubby,
"they took the soul out of that profession a few patches ago."
Wait. You mean they HAD souls? When did THAT happen?!
/poke Xygar
Xy,
I'm hoping that the new changes make Rangering MORE fun. I already thought it was fun. ![]()

Ha! You would!! Fun like watching paint dry...maybe!
Of COURSE we have souls. Maybe not GOOD souls, be we got souls. I've got at leasttwo or three myself.
lol no offense meant to the creature handlres im still bitter because i was in the same boat of grinding out those last few k's of scout xp to get creature handler when they whacked it with the patch.
lol then i get ch and im runnin around taming baby nunas and cupas while some low level hair dresser runs by with a rancor a t-rex bigfoot and that robot from the beastie boys video in tow it was a little disheartning
yeah i guess im a lil bitter but just a little heheh
Xy,
