Does anyone REALLY know what'AIM' does? I assume it gives me a better chance of hitting my target (duh!) but how much better?

I was tryingit on Greater Womp Rats last night with my First Shotlike this:
[Laser Rifle]...prone... aim... mindshot2... etc.) and I was hitting them but getting some crappy numbers on the mindshots. I would think if you took time to Aim that your chance for a big hit would increase. Was I just unlucky, or does it not work, or does it do something else ?

Does it increase the hit modifier for the next shot? That's the little number to the left of the HAM bars of the enemy (-50 - +50). I never use AIM since I hit most shots without it anyway, but I think that's what it does... the higher that number is, the more likely you are to hit.

I don't KNOW.

But if I had to guess, I would say it increases the accuracy of your next shot. I think the marksman tree gives a bonus to the effect that aim has.

Only effects chance to hit not the dmg amount.

This is exactly what it does. You can even aim 2 or 3 times and stack the effect. Problem is once you get your rifle accuracy to 80-100 you hardly ever miss.

Thanks, Eltestor. Good info. I didnt realize Aim stacked. I'm low in the rifleman tree, so I'll have to check my aiming stats to see if I still need to use it much. I do miss on my first mindshot everynow and then.

Another Question: I know the music changes when I target a MOB and hit AIM, but does the MOB really know that I've done anything? Or could I press AIM at him all day long and he would just stand there?
