Thread: Commando needs rifleman ideas

Hi guys.. since you now have a weapon with AP 3.. and also does pretty heavy damage even though it is slow... you have no become more of a commando then the commandos themselves.. but I myself would like to play a class that has a purpose as well.. we are supposed to have major advantages vs armor and so forth.. so how would you propose a balance? I do not with to nerf your gun at all.. i think you guys deserve this but i would like to see the commandos excel above the other classes when it comes to armor.. and if you have an AP 3 gun.. and if thats the max.. how it is possible for a commando to top that when going vs armor? just want some ideas from a riflemans view point. Trying to get classes brought up in power not nerfed down.

I think your specialty weapons should probably have a built in bonus against armored targets at the least.

Well, even though the T21 is AP3 now, Commando Weapons (when they are fixed) will still have an edge because of damage type. You guys have specializations in Acid and Heat, which is usually not nearly as well resisted as Energy in most armor. I know you're suffering and not seeing those bonuses right now, but they are coming. The system won't fail you there, because you already have the damage types build into the TYPES of weapons. They can't nerf that.

You guys are also likely to have some weapon variety. The one AP3 gun we have will be a slow-firing, distance-only unit. Since Commandos will have AP3 on a good mix of guns, you'll have the upper hand from an AP standpoint against many types of MOBs. You also won't have the 250% Melee Damage penalty (as far as I know) and that alone will work in your favor.

I wouldn't worry too much about being out-Pierced by Riflemen. We still can only fire six or seven times before we incap ourselves!

lol that rifle is basicly a 1hit kill with ap 3 even with the new dueling reqs.. heh we'd be so lucky for our heavy weapons to get that good. i light you up with a flamethrower you shouldbe burning to the bone. i fire a rocket at you and it hits i shouldn't do less damage then a good CDEF we are nerfed your not. with the damage X compared to armor this rifle makes armor useless becouse you do added damage the higher the Ar vs Lower ar. heh

Also, as I said before, you do get rare damage types. I can't emphasize enough how badly that owns me when I get hit with the DX-2 Acid Pistol. And yeah, Pistoleers are overpowered anyhow, but I've dueled with friends and I know what their damage stats are. The DX2 definitely rocks me FAR MORE than other Pistols of comperable DPS. Acid rocks, and I envy you it do much it hurts.

ok lets just say that they did fix the commando weapons for a minute.. we would still be very similar to a rifleman.. big damage with big delay with big HAM costs for specials.. we even have the same damage penalty vs melee combat while holding heavy weapons (except launcher pistol).. only thing we cant do is attack a specific HAM pool.. some how we have to change this..

umm the point is there is no fair shot in commando lol. we can't kill crap. ch has pets, pistoleer has knockdown, bh has knockdown (and eye shot), riflemen now has a AR3 weapon that can kill people in pvp in 1 hit. while we commandos have... broken weapons.. sucky moves.. and a launcherpistol. you wana talk about a fair shot? how would you feel if your head shot didn't do more then 10 damage or somthing, thats basicly the same as me launching 500 rockets at someone or dowcing you in acid or lighting you on rifle and you suffer minumal damage. we don't need /godmode drop your gay sarcazim

Relcor the problem with that is we can't attack pools like every other class heh.. maybe with the launcher pistol we can do body shot. that is the only thing we can do, and our launcher pistol doesn't keep getting better. you guys on the other hand can attack the mind... the weakest part of any person in pvp that isn't a crafter heh

Yes, but with the 75% reduction in PvP damage, it's actually common to hurt out OWN Mind Pools as badly as as our target's. I've even found myself doing MORE damage to my own Mind Pool than my opponent's with Headshot3. Riflemen fear ourselves.

So pay attention, Commandos! When the Devs get around to you (which ought to be about a month or two before they get around to Squad Leader) make sure they don't give you huge Mind Pool Drain. It's death on a stick.
