Thread: I think I have the skill that could make us very viable in pve without influencing pvp

Many people complain about the rifleman being dead in one hit by higher level and sometimes equal mobs. Plus rifle have a slow firing rate, which means we cannot spam our number 1 defense, warning shot.

The question is, would you like the first box of counter-sniping to have: Warning Volley.

Using a Complicated semi-automatic technique, the rifleman shoots multiple short both of laser in an arc in front of him, inspiring fear in his opponents.

The effect would basically be an AoE warningshot, I think it would be very useful.

Just an idea.

I have to be honest, I don't find Startle Shot to be THAT useful. The reason for that is that Rifles have such a LONG delay between rounds, my target is often able to stand up and gain ground on me again before I even get the chance to shoot again. If the shot delay on my Rifle is 7.5, for example, and the enemy only stays started for 5 seconds, it's only worthwhile if you're trying to RETREAT. Now, perhaps this won't be a problem when you reach Master Rifleman and you have all of your Rifle Speed boosts. But until then it's brutal, I can confirm that.

Zam... I guess I meant what is the difference in "effect" of Suppression fire over his suggestion. The point is to keep the animal from coming after you. I never had good luck with Warning shot and finally gave up using it.... That's why i mention suppression fire. It works well for me if I fire it every 4-5 seconds. Animals do NOT turn and run, but they stop in their tracks and stand there looking at you.

I apologize if I am not understanding the difference in the effect. His suggestion may be a good one if it works better than Warning shot worked for me. At novice rifleman, suppression fire seems to work at least 80-90% of the time (just a guess from my experiences).

BTW I mainly solo PvE. So that could taint my opinion also...

No, I know what you both mean, actually. I think this new theoreticaly shot, which I officially dub Warning Blast, would have to have a much higher chance of success than Warning Shot. Of course, I do question its capacity for use in PvP. Let's be honest, what we all really want is some AoE Knockdown love.

Wayne -

The thing is I dont think suppression fire works against beasts, as they dont change postures. And to the poster we had trouble with warning shot, when you are entering WS mode as I call it, switch to a spraystick, you will spam them fast enough. When they are far, switch back to T21 for bleeds and HS
