"
increased penalty for firing while moving
increased defensive bonuses for moving targets
"
Proposed combat changes.
Now, I dunno about most of you, but I spend a LOT of time running away from things while shooting them. They obliterated our ability to one-shot kill anything worth more than 400 rifle exp.
So, while a Carbineer or Pistoleer may still be able to stand and fight whatever it is, our 2.5x melee damage penalty comes back to haunt us in yet another way. If these changes go in, we're REALLY screwed folks.
We'll be forced to fight whites or yellows (with some luck), but only mobs that don't BAF.
This is kinda ugly... we need to get our correspondant working on either a) Slapping this idea out of the Dev's heads, or b) Removing our 2.5x melee damage penalty... because isn't being -70 at point blank range enough to ensure we'll take a TON more damage on it's own, without the added thrill of getting two-shotted by a blue-con NPC?

Yep, thats why I stayed up last night and got master, thought that was coming in today.
From reading another class correspondants post it seems the Devs ignore them except for the monthly reports.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think the T21 Love we got was any special attention the devs are paying to Riflemen, just some good luck.

Yeah they need to nerf firing while moving so that people that swing medieval weapons have an easier time killing people that are trying to play a game in a Sci Fi world. God forbid a blaster... let alone a rifle take out some moron wielding a stick. That would just be unfair to the escapees from EQ I suppose.

There were lots of melee weapons in star wars, books and the movies. So feel free to shut the hell up that professions even worse off than we are get at least some help.

Glad I got novice rifleman tonight off snarbals. Although this move goes along with the goal of not letting players solo red cons, it only stops us from soloing the few slow moving redcons.

Zarl0k:
Melee users exist in the SW EU, but not many of them, unless Jedi, are very successful. The devs have said themselves many times that melee classes weren't meant to compete in PvP... "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight."
Now, how about you shut the hell up and go back to trolling in the shallow end of the gene pool back out on General Discussion, thanks.
