HI there.

I am starting out as rifleman, and hope some of you masters can help me out with some good advice like:

- Should i go for low speed or high damage slized weapons?

- What weapons should i buy to be able to get many kinds of damage?

- Where can i get a lot of xp - fast and easy?

- Are the T21 the best, or were there some new rifles with patch6?

- Any other advice you can give me would be highly appriciated.

Thanks

Starting rifleman your speed is pretty slow so i would recomend you get a speed slice weapon to start with, or get the best of both with a damage sliced weapon and a speed powerup or vice versa. As you progress up the speed bar (special abilities) your speed will get faster and you will have to adjust the balance accordingly. When you reach master you should definitely get damage sliced guns and utilize damage powerups.

I would recomend a T21 for normal hunting however in PvP (which if you want to save your faction points you should not enter until master) and up against Composite Targets i would use a Jawa Ion Rifle. The new DRX Rifle has similar stats to the T21 and is effective agaisnt critters with Acid Weaknesses. Spraysticks are mentioned in the next question.

Savage Quenkers, Dantooine. Go prone at 50m, this will allow you to get 3 shots in without detection, if you dont manage to kill them before they reach you, you should take out a spraystick to finish them off.

They are both very good guns, it merely depends on whether you have buffs (the DRX costs a lot of mind). Seeing as you 'll be going through guns like a knife through butter and DRX's are limited i would stick the T21 for now.

Otheradvice- stick with it until master. Its a great profession.

Have fun- i sincerely hope you're not a holo grinder or im wasting my time ; )

Whitch skills should i learn first?

I would first go up the sniping line for a bit of accuracy then go up the counter-sniping line till you reach the third skill box, this will give you Flushing Shot 2- the best random pool attack until strafe shot 2, it also hits multiple targets). Then like DarthKirby said finish the sniping line and the rest should come pretty easy.

(are there any über shots i should learn first)

Like i just said Flushing Shot 2 is very effective, i would also reccomend using Headshot 2 rather than Headshot 3, reason being Headshot 3 has a miniscule amount of damage advantage over Headshot with a relatively high mind cost difference.

Hope i can be of help once again. Good luck

Acouple comments on Faikk's post. Everything he says I would agree with, especially the part where he says dont PvP until master. After you hit Master, PvP your heart out.

With the savage quenkers, with a good damage sliced/powered up T21, and headshot 3, you can kill these guys in 3 hits (sometimes more, depending on the T21 and if you miss or not, etc). However, this will drain you mind like crazy. Invest in some chef-made brandy, should add like 200+ mind/focus/will each dose, and you can drink two of them at a time. If you cant get that, muon gold is the other option. With some practice, you can take out 2 quenker lairs before your downer, saves alot of time.

I advise going up the accuracy line first (4/0/0/0 I believe). This gives you headshot3 (to use on s quenkers to possibly 3 shot them), and the accuracy helps alot. Or at least get the accuracy 2 line, then go up for speed. The rest is up to you, it doesnt matter much if your just killing quenkers.

And as I said before, headshot 3 is the best on quenkers. It's the uberest you can get until master.

I hope that helps.

Using a speed sliced laser rifle with 33% speed powerups (speed gets down to 2.7) I will get buffed up and do savage quenker missions. i then mask scent and get to about 45/50 meters out. i go prone and spam headshot 2. i will kill most of them before they ever get to me (about 75% at novice). if they do reach you just pop up to kneel and finish them off.

this seems to work pretty well but you have to have a fast rifle and be able to mask scent (being masked while prone will give you about 6 "free" shots instead of just the 3 you get from being prone)

if you dont have mask scent you can use the "take cover" special to get the same result, but at novice it will fail most of the time. Also you cant "peace" out while covered so when your milking the lair you will have to break cover each time to avoid aggro.

Good Luck!
