I just trained in CS III last night and holy crap FS2 does wonders for an aspiring rifleman! For anyone who just started up the tree like myself I highly recommend going straight for Flushing Shot 2, I was getting more XP last night than ever since it targets a cone area....

I'm really starting to like this profession!

wait till you master it... what your doing now with flushing2 is a pale imitation of what strafe2 is capable of

One of my friends is a master, he keeps telling me the same thing. I can't wait! Having a cone shot sure does make it easier to gain XP though so hopefully I'll be there soon enough.

If you have the combat exp go up the Rifle Abilities tree and get Flurry2. You stun and dizzy in AoE. Not sure Dizzy is usefull for critters but it sure is fun on prone, humanoid opponents. The stun helps you hit more often, even tho the status might not be useful. Flurry first (get the dizzy) then Flushing (force standing) and they all fall down. You can only do that practically once in a fight tho: it's not like other profs that have a REAL KDthat can spam it all day...

I think I am setting the record for the most amount of time taken to master this profession. I started as a Novice Marksman with the full intention of getting to Master Rifleman. That was on Day 2 of the game (back in June). I am currently 4/3/3/3 and still truckin'. Eight months and counting baby. You must be wondering, 'does this guy play the game an hour a week? Once a month? Is he just retarded and doesn't know how to play?' Well, I'm sure an argument could be made for the last idea, but I feel the truth is I've just been having fun doing a wide variety of other things. The 15 skill points I spent on Novice Artisan was the best investment ever. It has made me a multi-millionaire through the mining industry. That takes a bit of time. And I am in college (with daily commitments to the AF), so I really do only play a few days a week and a few hours at a time. My newest goal is to beat up on the Geonosian cave and hopefully loot me some yellow power cubes so I can get a DXR-6 made. And if I can't loot them, well, I'll buy them off the trade forums. At least I'll get some rifle xp at the cave. Hopefully I'll finish this profession in the next couple weeks. Wish me luck!

lol... i know your pain. i'm assuming by "college" and "daily commits to the AF" that you're an AFROTC.

been there, done that-- between corps stuff and AAS, I spent more time shining, tweezing, ironing, marching, PFT-ing, etc than I did studying.

dude im in the same boat as you.. started from release and im 4/3/3/3 now.. xp accelerated when they improved rifleman and i found the dathomir rancor stomp groups (100k xp an hour if everything goes smoothly)

when i am half way through my last box i will do some quests and check out the Geonosian cave, since i dont want to waste time killing mobs when im master since i wont be getting any XP.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head. So are you commissioned? What career field? And yeah, ROTC takes up a ton of time (although I've been slackin' in AAS). We got a new PAS this year though and he is all about grades, so he's letting people cut out some ROTC time in the hopes of raising GPAs. Four months till commission for me, 21A, aircraft maintainence (not my first choice sadly), don't know where I'll be, hopefully Langley or Seymour Johnson.

I'm not really powering through the boxes myself, I shoot for one or two a week (way more on the one side). Trying to enjoy the game!
