I have been fuming over this issue now for a few days, gone through what I believe proper channels to get definative answers and attempted to understand whatever logic is behind this. I come to you now for some clarification and maybe you can help me understand what is going on.
We all know how 'informed' CSR's are, so lets not go there. But when one makes statements and marks accounts, I believe something needs to be done and some information needs to be forthcomming. I hope you can put some rest to this issue with a final answer from the Dev Team.
A mRifleman friend has completed the Quests to get the max range arms, adding +15m to his max range. He has been reported and his account has been flagged for using SOE given rewards to fire at 80m. This CSR in question has stated that this is an exploit. How can this be? A legally granted item, used legally, is an exploit? Yes, it was at a PvE Turret. There is a grey area surrounding this, I agree. With the new changes made to Turrets, I believe that it is time for an answer here. If firing at a PvE Turret, with legal quest items, available to anyone with ROTW, is an exploit, I won't like it, but will live with it as it is the rules. But how long before it is an exploit for a mRifleman to use this items to fire at a NPC? A PC? This makes very little sence to me...
I welcome community thoughts and suggestions, flames can be taken elsewhere. I really look forward to your responce Ackehece.
Thank you.

There is much discussion on this subject. basically you should not be able to attack an object in such a way as to be free from danger so it is somewhat exploiting to attack a turret with them as they can not fire back otoh a pc or creature can close the distance (assuming roots/mezs etc) don't stop them. Therefore they would not be grouped in the same manner.

Thank you very much for your time. The CSR responces and conversations I have had with them have not been very illuminating. One say exploit, one not. With your statement of 'much discussion' I will assume it is on the Corr Boards. I do not envy you or the DEV's in trying to fix this situation. I cannot even imagine how to 'fix' this. Remove arms? Increase turret range? Ug...
Again, thank you for your time!

hmm i have been pondering how they come up with these being exploits .
my veiw is we are riflemen <SNIPERS> we should have an excessive range as,
1. we have to take time to set up our sniper shot <if we dont have the range the time it takes to fire your killed >
example would be lets get in rang of the turret it will of course start shooting us , lay down take <bugged> aim then setup sniper shot now how long u expect to live ????
2.seriously they really need to NURF the idiots in this game im sorry but the cu has been nothing but boring and really no fun
get rid of these whiners about how this is unfair and thats unfair it all stems from PVP. nurf PVP completly and problem solved

In my mind this should not be considered an exploit.
Actually it is sloppy planing from the Devs.

by definition an exploit is taking advantage of an unintended sideeffect of code
