MR/MCM base
i got two more elite trees.
i got post CU, Carbs 0404 and i loved the leg shot, KD and cripple.
my last respec i went into pistols 0404, for the obviouse reasons.
now, i still got my token left and am considering going back to carbs 0404.
so yes, if i want to solo somethign big, the root might be a btr idea, but i loved the KD for PvP. and i DO have the CM snare and mez.
i am in a condundrum here...
SO: i need feedback on if the KD is realy more efective than the root in PvP... (darn jedi can have both. well i can too, but i dotn want to give up my CM....)

Go with pistoleer, stopping people in their tracks for 15secs is much more valuable

Personally I'd go for the root because there is no recovery from it.
Is this really a rifleman question though?

That carbs KD is a real "I Win" button as you can eventually get someone in a bugged state so that they get "You cannot use Knockdown Recovery while Knocked Down" and then just pummel them.

I have a MRM/MCM/Pistoleer 4004. For PvE, I set up at range, cover, than hit the target with one conceal shot and allow aggro to break. Then I repeat the conceal shot, followed by one sniper shot, then let them head for me. Once the target is at 32 meters, I use the stopping shot, then apply my DOT's. Generally by the time the stopping shot breaks a regular mob is dead or close to it.
If an elite mob gets close, I paralyze, heal, hit them with the stopping shot again and back off to a nice distance.
I use this smae tactic against elite mobs such as black suns, NS Sentinels, Juvy Krayts, and Ancient Bull Rancors. It seems to work very well for me

Sorry didn't mean to step on any toes there...
The thing is, the only KD/ROOT that Riflemen have is Melee Strike.
The ranged KD/ROOT abilites are from other professions so asking a Rifleman which is better seemed kinda weird to me.
Again, I'd stick with the rooting shot...KD is to easy to recover from when it's not bugged.

Correspondents shouldnt be encouraging people to exploit.

My personal opinnion is that if you like Carbines then go for them. I have used stopping shot as I was once a master pistoleer, but with the CM snare which slows down your opponent so significantly for 2minutes you should really have no need of a root. KD will give you a little extra damage output since you do additional damage when they are KD'ed. But basically in my experiences the CM snare is so powerful that there really is no need for anything else.

That of course is a reason not tospam the skill. Anytime a skill is bugged and you use a skill to start the bug you are exploiting so best not to create a situation where the exploit occurs. That being said I have Master Carbineer in my skill set and I love all their specials.

Yeah the CM snare is very nice. Who needs root when the CM snare works.
