I just got Sniping IV the other night and to date I have not been able to get the shot to work.

I have tried it from about 60-64m from my target, Kneeling, prone, using /takeCover and actually being under cover. I have tried evedry way I can imagine to use this shot and I either gety a message that I cannot use thhat shot on this target or You cannot use SniperShot while tumbling.

Any suggestions?

SniperShot can only be used in PvP. It acts as a ranged Deathblow so you don't have to run 60 meters to kill someone. It has no use in PvE.

That special only works in PvP and only if that target is incap'd. SniperShot is only a ranged deathblow.

I think that Sniper Shot can only be used in PVP. Once you incapacitate your enemy by other means, it then becomes a ranged deathblow only.

Great.

It might have been nice to include this little tidbit in the explainations of the shot ingame. Totally useless to me as I do not participate in PvP at all. I WAS kind of hoping it might make hunting PvE combat a little more efficient and useful. But, I guess that's not what this game is all about anymore.

Just peachy. Another useless skill!

Grrrrrrrr.....

Maybe making my Wook a Commando WOULD be a better idea. Hell, He can't get involved with any close combat cause even with Wook Armor he gets his butt beat quickly.

I guess it's all about balancing Combat though...... As long as the PvPers are having fun!

Hey now, don't get all gripey cuz ya grinded up the wrong tree. Just take it as a learning xp and move on - you'll want the other tree with Conceal Shot. Once you get that you'll be able to snipe at PvE targets better.

Remember, you don't snipe animals, you hunt them.

Yeah. Sorry I got all gripey and all...... Just that I get tired of seeing... Nawww, I'm not going there.

I already have conceal shot. I was looking for something even more effective. I hate the thought that the most effective benifits for the profession come at level 2 of the skill trees. I mean, If that's the case... What the heck is the purpose of Mastering the profession anyway?

And for that matter, where the heck do you find the information about these special abilities so that you don't waste your time?

The Rifleman training grind is one of the most frustrating in terms of hoping to have an awesome new skill every block. Doesn;t happen. Well.. for the most part it doesn't.

Conceal Shot will let you kill nearly anything in the game, given time and patience. Flushing2 (0/0/3/0) block, or is it Flurry2.. I forget. But the aera of effect shot in the 3rd block of the 3rd tree is your major group hunt, massive XP gainer shot. As long as you are grouped and let other stuff do the tanking, you will gain massive XP with this shot.

The real boost only comes at Master Level. And that is in two parts. 1) SPEED. 2) Strafe Shot 2. SS2 is your 5x Dmg multiplier shot and it is also an AOE shot.

I have seen several rifleman trainees erach master and go around chanting about the difference this last block makes.

So a rifleman is an all-or-nothing profession tree. Don;t go part way. Go for Master or don't bother.

I've been a rifleman forever. First and only combat profession Damun has ever had and I have yet to not be excited about its speed or damage.

Well, This does give me encouragement to try to finish the profession. I plan on taking Master CH as well. That way I can have my own tank when needed. Being a Wookiee my Armor pretty well sucks. And I get the crap kicked outta me if I get in close with anything bigger than a Gnort! That's why I dropped Master BH. Hopefully this will give me the stand-off capabilities I want!
