I'm working on rifleman and plan on mostly hunting with this character. Since aim is improved by going prone, is it worth it to have some protection from posture change (up) SEAs? I was thinking of getting some of those and some cover SEAs for hunting more dangerous stuff. Do animals change your posture much? Are cover tapes helpful? So many CAs and AAs are broken, I'd like to make sure before I bought any. Thanks.

I don't think I've EVER had a posture change up applied to me. Though the oddest thing was getting Knocked Down, while prone. I need to stand up before I can roll back over? **edit**?

going prone when fighting critters can let you get in a few more free shots but be prepaired to go to kneeling when your charged. the unfortunate fact of SWG is that unless your using conceal shot there really isnt any ranged combat in PVE.
in PVE against animals all ranged combat skills are actually melee skills with very poor defenses. all animals with very few exceptions will charge you everytime.
now that being said. at master. you can open fire on a target like a rancor or some other large beastie and drop it before it reaches you. rifle is the only ranged profession that is well balanced for both PVE and PVP.
hurton howlers torturs and some other critters will posture up and down you. you honestly cant get enough +defense versus this stuff to make any real difference in PVE.
