Thread: RIFLEMAN SPEED CAP 90>??
TKA has +105 in their tree. So melee do get over +75 speed. Just not all of them.

Master Marksman will give you +5. You could also use Armor Attachments or Clothing Attachments.

I have no idea what you are talking about here. A +90 speed mod (at Master Rifle with no extra enhancements) will fire Strafeshot2 (3.5x delay)with an 8.0 T21 at 2.8 seconds per shot. That is almost 3 times the speed cap. Firing Headshot3 (2.0x delay) with that same weapon will hit for 1.6 seconds per shot.
To speed cap with those two specials, you would need a2.9 speed weapon to cap with Strafeshot2, and a a 5.0 speed weapon to cap with Headshot3. Or you would need to take your speed mod to +97 with skill tapes to cap.
These are confirmed numbers, so I am not sure what you are talking about.

Any speed over +100 is wasted speed for any profession. The speed mod is a percent reduction in the delay. So a +100 speed means you are reducing the cumulative delay (the weapons delay times the special delay modifier) by 100%. A 100% reduction in delay would result in no delay in firing. In otherwords, without thespeed cap,a +100 speed mod would allow you to fire any weapon in the game withany special in the gameat way faster than one shot per second. However, since the speed cap is 1 second per shot, you would hit the speed cap with all weapons and all specials with a +100 speed mod. And that is true of all professions. So the extra +25 modifier is nothing but fluff.
Even without that, there are other factors. We know that the maximum delay for a Riflespecial is 3.5x (Strafeshot2). Using a little basic algebra, you can rearrange the speed formula and determine that you can fire our slowest special (and therefore any special) at the speed cap with any weapon you are likely to use if you have a +97 speed mod. With that speed mod, you can fire Strafeshot2 at the speed cap with any weapon with a speed of 9.5 or less. And with rounding, you do not actually hit 1.1 seconds per shot until you get up to about a 10.0 speed weapon. Since the only weapons you will encounter with a speed of greater than 10 secondsare loot drops and, even then, they are usually not worth using, for all practical purposes, anything over +97 is wasted speed. Likewise, since most other professions have faster weapons than we do, they will speed cap before +97 in speed, so their point where additonal speed is wasted is even less than +97.

This is the real problem with the speed formula. A riflemannearlytriple his DPS with just 7 extra speed points. Those same 7 points for any other profession will not have nearly the same effect.
