I'm looking at what my character will have for skills when I've completely used all of his skill points. After mastering out Scout, Ranger, and Creature Handler, I have enough skill points left over for novice marksman, all the rifle skills of marksman, novice rifleman, and then enough skill points to go up one tree of the Rifleman options 3 levels.
I've talked to members of my guild and they all pretty much agree on which one I should go with. I just want to get the opinions of all the Riflemen I can.
So, which tree would be my best option? Looking for something that will help in PvP as well as PvE.

Okay... what combat area would you suggest instead... keeping in mind my attributes are set as the default for scouts. Carbineer or Pistoleer? I don't think a melee would be a good option for me due to having creatures to tank for me... when I get good enough to use the strong ones I have...

Having Master Ranger and MCH is just too taxing on the skill points to add a combat profession effectively. To use Rifleman with this build, you would have to go all the way by sacrificing some of either Ranger or CH. MCH will get you 3 pets at once which can be very handy. That leaves 12 points for Ranger. Putting them in the Tracking branch isn't a bad idea though maybe Wayfaring or Frontiering is more for you. If you want to get 2 full lines in Ranger, you can do that by giving up MCH and a few other boxes. You will still be able to call 2 pets at once with a combined level of about 40
Those are just a few ideas for you to think about. With just 3 boxes available in Rifleman, it's just not worth doing though. I would say the same for Carbineer. Pistoleers may be different, but I wouldn't think so. Rifleman and CH are both great for PvE. Ranger has some great bonuses and abilities, but many Rangers do not see the need for the Master box until their profession is fixed a bit. Hope that helps

First off... agreed, rifleman is COMPLETELY worthless w/o master. In fact, in my opinion, rifleman is nearly worthless even at 4444, because you fire your rifles so slow.
One feasable option if your set on the whole CH/ranger option could be pistoleer track just because you could pick up some defenses such as dodge.
In my opinion, you should drop ranger completely. Ranger was usefull to find creatures back in the day when we were on foot walking up sand dunes looking for krates etc. Lately.. you just hop on your speeder and drive mache 3 over your terrain and usually find what your looking for.
having dropped ranger... you could master rifleman with plenty of extra points. Master rifleman / master Creature handler combined with some medic could be an effective PvE combonation.
*shrug*
just a few thoughts, take them or leave them.
