Thread: marksman/ rifleman idea but never gona happen but would make sense.....

first of all we have all these debates about r we gunner or snipers well here s a idea...
first of all way i see it its brawler vs marksman... what do i mean well brawler has 4 elite professions yet marksman only has 3 and yes i know there hybrid profs but thats off subjesct and this is probablt goan conflict with carbineers but why not make the gaurdman line a new profession... then u could have 2 branches of rifleman (ok not gona happen but )
you could have a sniper profession has slow but powerful uber aimed head shots uses alot of take cover positions and so fourth... could be a good pve template and then the other branch which is know as the rifleman tree make it a soldier profession who use automatic rifles. like everyone always goes on about u want to be snipers but u fire as fast as pistoleers well ok (here come real life /sigh) but due to the size of rifle u have both assult rifles with full automatic use so yes it is gona be faster than a pistol... and then u have sniper rifles which r very accurate uber long ranged rifles so..what im proposing is basically split the 2 sides up and make a 4th marksman profession?
not gona happen i know, gonna have alot of controvesy and flames but there ya go thats my 2 cents

Your idea of spliting the profession into two has been discussed before but it is always worth visiting again. The problem with ever ever ever being a sniper is the range issue which can not be fixed under this system. Max 64m which any good meleer can cross in under 6 secs and they can lunge at you at 30m (20m +/- 10m). If it was a viable option It would be advocated by such as myself but currently I could not support such a split.

I think it would be good idea, but it wouldnt allow you to have other proffesions mastered i think......

ok i hear ya guys, but beside other ranged skills such as bh commando and smuggler dirty fighting dont u agree marksman branch is one profession short of a skill?

If this new sniper thing happened... it would be dangerouse because a rifleman now with +7 speed can fire a rifle with 9.0 speed at the speed cap(correct me if i'm wrong). So... imagine if a rifleman had +25 rifle speed. Then, even if the "uber heavy slow sniping rifle" had 15.0+ speed it could concievabley be fired at speedcap. =o

i was thinking of having the entire to skill serperated and weather they would stack is another thing.. since u would have to master both professions.?
