If you want a chance at killing people in PvP you're gonna need a weapon spec. No matter how bad a dancer or cook you are, its not gonna kill the enemy.

1) It's easy... and fun... to role-play a "big-game" hunter.

2) You have to get bone, hide, and meat to make traps with to get to Ranger in the first place... might as well shoot them with a 'krayt' gun and hit them in the head with a big axe.

3) Chef would be fun for about a week, then the grind would be too consuming, and you will have to use Public Crafting Stations, and eventually a Private one, to advance to Master Chef... no condusive to the whole 'out in the wild' motif.

4) You can be an Excellent Scout/Ranger/Rifleman for the first couple of moneys and still keep your Artisan/Entertainer side rolls. It's only when you get high enough that points really start making a difference, that, well, points really start making a difference.

Anything else?

well uhm were to begin. Okwell i would usualy start with gratification, but what the hell lets skip it and dive right in shall we. I am a scout and i would call myself a casual player, i am real into role playing and developing my character personality and the works. I am hoping to master the two big outdoor professions, scout and ranger and that would leave me with one more proffesion and a little left over. Now i now that it only takes 2 to tango but hey it takes at least 3 to play duck duck goose and i ask you which of the two is more entertaining *actualy the tango is fun so i don't think i got my point across, darn* , duck duck goose lol, thuse i have one more skill to get and i was thinking about rifleman, Chef, or dancer. now starting in alphabeticle order from the center would present us with the dancing prof. Hmm a male dancer, no even worse a male dancer with a mullet not too shabby. I whanted to become a dancer at first so that i could entertain people in my group and because i like dancing more then playing music. The problem with dancing however is that it would be very hard to role play a straight dancing male (unless of course they were a stripper, a passionat person or a man with a large **edit**, all negative in my case) and about playing a homosexual dancing male (not that i have anything against homosexuality i am totaly cool with that rock on) it's just not my thing (not that im not gay or anything i mean don't get me wrong jk). Ok moving on, the chef proffesion will work, but i don't know if would find crafting all that fun since i will be crafting stuff with my scouting skills already. That leaves us with (drum roll) RIFLEMAN. Now i know that every one to post here will probably have a million reasons on why itis purdey cool (im judging oyu all already and i dont even know you i am such a butthead) i wanna know the why's and why nots and why if you think i should go with the Rifleman instead of cooking, dancing, or other combat skills. Thanks for your time now either flame me for being annoying and well i don't have all day to list my flaws so either flame me or help me or just post to say something totaly stupid just to have said something and to feel special. TTFN ta ta for now

Since chef is a really long grind, and dancer is really bouring, i suggest to do riflemen because if you already have scout, and have combat from harvesting, you should become a rifleman, anywase, combat is sooooooooooooooo fun

Im surprised u even decided on those 3 professions if ur big on outdoors.... maybe u should have posted in the creature handler forum....

I keep hearing that theres a big difference between master rifleman andnovice rifleman so theres little point not becoming a master if u do decide on it. math aint my strong point so ud have to work out if u had enough skill points to achieve master.

I started off as an entertainer, dancing most of the time, i came to realise u could easily grind to master dancer by setting up a macro and it just wasnt challenging enough and so boring that im gonna surrneder my skill points at some point.

the rifleman grind is tedious sometimes but its more fulflling than dancing.
