Thread: Necro fiend.

someone seems to be on a necro spree.
(if you don't know what this means, short version: you revive threads that are dead... in this case, threads over a year old.)
while I support Waste's efforts to revive some posts of the past (a declared action, and one done for a purpose), it's becoming ESSENTIAL to look at the original post dates of threads sitting on the first page of topics now.
the game has changed a lot, even in the last few months... and posts over a year old have little to do with the state of affairs today.
if this must continue, then we must be more careful in our responses.

DOh! just got suckered by a necro fiend 
was an ad post so I didn't think to check the date on it

You realize of course that, in a year, this post will be necro'ed right?

They need to modify the boards, so that posts over a certain age are archived but locked. This would still allow people to look up old posts for information, but it would prevent these losers from replying to a post from September 6, 1962, and saying "If 3 exp per day is all you can get, you suck!" just to get it back on the front page.
Of course, we can always 1-star the idiots that do this. I do not appreciate wasting my time reading a post that is over one year old and COMPLETELY irrelevant in today's game, just to figure out that some jackass necro'd it just to be a jackass.

I did say in my intro that about every two weeks I would pick an old post to sticky it for a bit. Could be interesting old info or just something funny and how things worked back then. Wait til I get to the Melee damage penalty and MOB warping ones. 
Besides, some are rather amusing.
Besides, some are rather amusing. As you said people need to check the post date. I also usually preface it with a comment that should indicate that it's an old post.
As before. If you know of a good one that might be a candidate to sticky let me know.
