Thread: Why do we have so many penalties?

The devs seem to think our DPS should be the same as that of pistoleer or carbineer. Nevermind that our useful attacks come from an unhealable pool. Nevermind that we take double (or more!) damage just for holding a rifle in our hands. Nevermind that our only usable stances also multiply the damage we take... or that our crappy accuracy makes it impossible for us to kite anything but broken creatures... (jaxes, yay!... wait, fixed!)


Where is the advantage? I know we suck at PvE (comparitively to the other elites). So are we supposed to be PvP? I know we can hit the mind pool, but with the 25% damage in PvP, I deal as much unhealable mind damage to MYSELF as I do to enemies (well, almost). And through an exceedingly long and boring process, I'm near master rifleman. And I'm useless. Not to mention that there are no T21s on my server, and that this gun, the reason I took up the profession in the first place, has now been nerfed.


Will there be balance? No. I can accept that. But the devs need to realize that riflemen have MAJOR penalties to all sorts of fields and still have yet to see ANY benefits over the other classes. Their current stance seems to indicate that SOE says riflemen areSOL.
