i just saw a Bounty hunter take on 3 rebel npc's that had 7k HAM's across the board. he used eyshot and they were all killed in 14 seconds, and he had little damage to himself. now tell me how we're more overpowered than that?

I don't understand why they all think they should be so good in combat, they spenda lot oftheir skillpoints in the scout tree. If I spend 250 points on combat related skills then I should have an advantageover someone who spent a lot of theirs in the scout tree.

I drop 4-6 white or harder cons in about 10-15 seconds, with my 490 laser rifle and strafe 2, we ARE overpowered, the fact that they TOO are overpowered, is well known. By 4-6 white cons, I'm talking 9k+ HAM, usually on endor.

I think we are overpowered at master. Before that, compared to the other classes I think we are underpowered.

How is it fair that the best rifle in the game has the same AP rating as a vibroblade? And we are overpowered? We have just as many drawbacks as we have benefits, if not more. Our best weapon is given at the advanced Rifleman level. And until you make it high up on the rifleman tree, you are lucky to get 3 shots off before getting dead by someone rushing you, do to the massively varying damage range of the laser rifle. But yet, it's still better than the weapon I blew hundreds of thousands of xp to get too.

"I think we are overpowered at master. Before that, compared to the other classes I think we are underpowered." - Selfyn

Exactly. That's our problem. The Devs are trying to balance us at Master with everyone else, but we are all getting to depressed to ever REACH Master. Our problem isn't in the potential of the Rifleman, it's in the journey there.

I think that the single WORST thing they did was putting the Rifle Speed and Melee Defense bonuses in the skill tree that requires Combat XP. I know on some level they did that so we would gradually gain that one tree with out other skills. But the truth is that the Speed increases are MUCH more vital to our class than the other gunner classes. Perhaps they need to move the Rifle Speed and Melee Defense out into another tree. Or just SWAP the XP requirements on an entire line of trees. Make Counter-Sniping cost Combat XP and let the "Special Abilities" cost Rifle XP (they might want to re-name it, heh).

It would be a little different than the other gunner trees. But we ARE different. Completely different. Our skills need to reflect that.

I agree on this, copied & pased from a I just hit master thread:

'I have a feeling the cause of a lot of the "wow the speed increase at master is mad" posts are because people get the special abilities box last. If you look at the last box you gain +10 speed, add that to the +20 from master and you gain 30% speed bonus all at once.'

I'm 2 boxes from hitting Master Rifleman right now. The box that will be last by some 400000 exp is the Special Abilities box. Sometimes it has been great fun, sometimes so annoying I feel like quiting, but I'm still glad I made that choice to go rifleman.

Ok, i see an overt imperial running through coronet. Now, when you see overt imperials in coronet i assume they are up for a fight. So i pull out my T21 and shoot at him.

Miss

He then uses knockdown and when i get up he uses it again.

The only damage he took was the HAM costs of his weapon, and thats it.

Dev's please rethink this, do something with knockdown, not our armor piercing!
