Thread: Prob heard before, but....

Ok I know this has all prob been heard before, but I am going to put out here any way. First off is range, or lack there of. All guns (or maybe 90% of em, not sure) have a max range of 64m. I personally think this is a bit messed up. I mean I am shooting the same distance as a pistol or carbine. Thats just a bit unrealistic. A pistol would only be able to slug a bullet so far, while a rifle can out distance a pistols shot by far greater. Seriously, I go hunting with a rifle, not a pistol in RL. I wouldnt hit a freaking deer if I did. Pls dont give me that argument of "well pistols have an IDEAL range of 19" or so forth. Wow! an ideal range that small, phhht people are still able to shoot that max 64 and hit people. I think it should be change where pistols shoot like 50m, carbines at 80, and rifles at like 100. Dont get me wrong thats a ways off, but thats how it would "be". Even in the Star Wars realm, so also pls dont say this is a game of unrealitcs.


another thing is the weapon speed issue. Every so many tier levels you get a rifle speed +5 or pistol, what ever yer using the most. Does this actually do anything? I havent noticed any thing yet. I would like to know what this is speed is to, Cause it sure dosent count to how fast yer weapon fires, you are still limited to yer guns speed on how fast it shoots. So pls explain this one to me.


Also how does cover fire work in PvP? if it dosent I think it should, I mean even everquest had invis that worked against other players, why cant Star wars inact something like that. shooting from a hidden postion is cool and all, but when yer opponent has a radar and can see you, and target you with the tab key, its kinda useless. I would like to see this fixed. Sure it sounds powerful to dissapear from opponents, but if thats the case, then just up the diffuculty on how often it works in PvP. It should balance out.


Also I have come to find head shot 3 is broken. I am more often doing more damage with headshot 2 then 3. Kind of a bummer to spend a butt load of exp and get shorted on a sapposedly upgrade of an ability.


These are some of the things I have noticed, and hope for some insight from others.

The range issue has been beat to death, everyone and their mother agrees with you but the devs.


The +speed has an effect, but at lower levels with +5 every so often its hard to notice, once you get to up near master rifleman and are getting +10 or more it becomes very noticeable, or so I have been told.


Cover fire does not currently work in pvp I believe, can't provide more information because I don't follow pvp too much.


Headshot 2 does 2.5x and Headshot 3 does 3x the damage. Thus a weapon with a fair range will still hit harder with 2 fairly often although your average damage will be higher with three. Although many people feel 3 is not worth the increased costs, which outweigh the damage gained. thus we begin paying more mind per damage instead of less, as you would expect.
