Thread: Question About Mindshot and Bleeds in General
I have a question about how /mindshot1 and bleeds work.
What pool is /mindshot1 supposed to do dmg to? I assumed it was the mind pool, but when I hit a mob with it I get a text floating over the mobs head in red that generally says Body Hit or Leg Hit shouldn't it be blue?
Also how long does a bleed usually last for? I am used to the bleeds in DAOC which where all around 20-30 seconds and did little damage. So I am curious how they work in SWG.
I am no expert, however I am a rifleman. I use mind shot1 and 2. I have noticed it really does not matter what part of the mob you hit (health, action, mind). The DOT (damage over time) will only effect the mind pool.
Cheers
False is correct.
The initial damage from mind shot is very minor, and I have seen it hit every pool. However the dot/bleed damage only effects the mind pool.
As far as damage, it does a heck of alot more damage than any bleed in DAOC.
I have seen bleeds of over 700, with just MS1
I use a sliced Laser Rifle and I can get Mindshot1 bleeds over 1000... but not all the time. The problem with Laser is I'll get a 1000+ bleed one time and the next time I get a 180 bleed (or less). When you're trying to take out a creature with a 10K mind pool, such as a mountain squill, those low numbers really stink!
Also... does anyone know how the Bleed Rate is set? I don't study logs, but by casual observation (usually when I'm lying incapped on my back) it seems the bleed occurs about every 20 secs. Anyone have any "inside info" on this?
Are you sure about the STACKING?

Yes, they stack... I always start with Mindshot2 followed by Mindshot1. I have had lots of time to watch the bleeds as I lay incapped watching the moons of Tatooine float overhead, and the ugly Mountain Squill stands over me bleeding on my new jacket. (Sorry for the poetic license there).
The two bleeds do not occur at the same time, just like your mindshots hitting the target did not occur at the same time. There was talk about nerfing this at one point, but it hasn't happened yet as far as I can tell.
there is no intial damage from a bleed shot, however the shot is random on any part of the body (and im pretty sure it can be partially blocked with armor as well).
mindshot 1 and 2 stack very well, and are on separate timers.
every 12 secs or so, the target will take xxx amount of damage, being the amount you originally shot him with
doing 2 or 3 mindshot 3's do not stack on each other, and i believe only the highest number remains (not sure if the last shot over rides or not, but i assume its the higher of the shots that remains) will have to test that.
Everything I have heard indicates they stack, so it is official that bleeding damage is based off your weapons damage?

My mindshot bleeds always seem to hit the Mind pool. Like I mentioned before, I spend way too much time on my back watching them. Trust me on this! Maybe it depends on the rifle you shoot 'em with?? I usually use a Laser Rifle.
