Thread: Why Does Rifleman Suck

I do not understand why as a Riflemen, I have the same Range ability as a pistoleer. Where is the advantage in being one of us. We can Kill from afar. BIG DEAL. All creatures get deathblow anyhow from afar, and in PVP we are dead b4 we get the chance, cause pistoleer is up on us Imediately...and we are Too Close to attack with our weapon. I just don't see a realistic advantage in being our class. We have no "bleed shot" for the mind, that would possibly make us better. There are just serious issues with this class that are not being fixed. Please give me reason to continue down this path. I may be wrong, and would not mind if you could tell me how. Then I would have hope.

Last I checked Mind Shot 1 and 2 were both mind bleeds. And what bleeds they are, since RM have higher single shot damage, I've seen bleeds over 2k on creatures and NPC's (don't do PvP). Heck, I went out Night Sister hunting the other night, and we accidentally agro'd an elder. I ran out to 50m (ideal range on my T21) and did mind shot 2 and queued about 20 headshot 2's. The elder eventually died of mind damage with health and action being about half full still, and I was the only rifleman out of 5 players and as many pets. Are we the best in PvP, no, but we can still out damage most other classes in PvE from what I've seen

Well, mind shot 1 and 2 are both bleed shots. Rifleman isn't that bad if you know the shots. On hard stuff or real dudes, i use mind shot 2 followed by mind shot 1 followed by headshot 3's. Even if i get incapped the target will most likely drop from this. The range problem is terrible though. I say if you are getting penalized for shooting up close, get rid of the melee penalty. Also, the only gun worth anything for rifleman is the laser rifle, and you get to use that one almost immediately. I agree it is far from perfect, but so are the other weapon classes. I like rifle for pvp because stims can heal mind.

I owned a nightsister elder last night. They are easy, melee's always are long as its just one on one if you can't beat a meleer you suck! lol sure if its 2 on 1 your dead but 1 on 1 and we can beat um. I saw a commando go up against 1 the other day and they got owned. WHy? cause look at resistance, their heat on their flame thrower is 100% that menas they can sit there all day long and not get roasted at all, so suck my rifle commando's.

Has anyone ever actually had any sucessful kills as a rifleman ( just curious ) Im interested in making a rifleman and was wondering if you could list some of your PvP strategies. Thanks

Well the other day I was sitting in Anchorhead on Tarquinas. There were about 6 Imperials that kept respawning and attacking people. Using flushing shot 2 and sniper shot I usually killed them 3 or 4 times each before I ran out of mind and they came over and hit me in the head. Course after the third time they stopped deathblowing me and my kill ratio slowed down. I gained about 300 faction points that day on 10 point kills. And I didn't miss one deathblow against someone I incapped.


Also I was out hunting near bestine overt and came across a "Novice Tera Kasi artist" that busted out with a rocket launcher on me. He didn't get a second shot off though.


My strategies basically involve spamming flushing shot 2 until they die then hitting sniper shot real fast.
