well now that the devs have finally explained armor piercing, and the e11 is supposed to have ap of 2 that would def make it much better than previously thought...but the laser is supposed to be ap 2 too...so i guess the choice of those 2 falls to whether or not you like to gamble, i know i do.

Actually, I switch back and forth between 3 weapons. I most often use a sliced DL20a that does 142-239 damage with a 4.9 speed. But, I also use a Laser Rifle that does 26-367 damage with a 6.5 speed. When things get too close to me, I pull out my Spraystick, 22-180 damage with 1.8 speed.

Its all preference though. Personally, I think the best on my server, most reliable, is the DL20a. Great gun, low mind costs to fire specials, and its pretty quick. I can score Headshot 2's up to 800-850 damage with the DL20a. The Laser is really nice. I'll score some 1200 point Headshot 2's, but the inconsistencies are really annoying. Its the higher base damage and quickness that draws me to the DL20a.

There has also been alot of talk about the E11. I dont particularly like this gun. It has a lower min/max damage, and slower speed than my DL20a. This may just be my server too, but most of the time, I am only finding the DL20's anyway.

BTW... I am on the Gorath server. The people to get a good DL20a and Laser Rifle from are Thoax on Correllia, or Vortex on Naboo. Both are Master Weaponsmiths and great people to boot. Thoax has a bigger name in the galaxy due to reputation, but Vortex is also just as good.

I have been using my DLT-20a rifle since I got it ages ago, though I need a new weapon soon, cause it is falling apart and I just don't feel like paying to get it repaired.

i use a t21 for longer range and and if they get close then i charge to a e11 rifle. i dont have a spray stick yet i hope to get one this weekend.

T21s are out for me at the moment (no resource spawn on Eclipse). I carry around a spraystick, a laser rifle annd an E11. I have found that I rarely use the E11 (except perhaps for PvP), because the damage is too low. Im engaing stormtroopers and such and for that I need the heavy hitting laser rifle, even though it is a gamble with the unbalanced damage.

I bought the E11 in the hopes that, because it is higher up the marksman tree, it would be a better weapon. How wrong could I be? It hits like a girl. Ok, itfires marginally faster than my sliced laser, but I cant honestly see any adavantage to it apart from the balanced damage.

I use 3 rifles.

If I have suprise on my side & can get a shot in at 60m, I open with my Laser Rifle, for that potential big punch.

When the mob or player begins to close, I switch to a top of the line DLT20a.

When something gets within melee range I get out my Spraystick for fastfastfast Warning/Suppression shots, which I can use to put range between me & my target again.

I haven't seen decent SG82's or any T21's on my server yet.

What weapon should I be after at this point? Obviously, I have the cert for the fabled T21 now, but Im not sure wether they are available on Eclipse yet (if so tell me for gods sake!)

Up to now I have been using a combination of a laser rifle and an E11. I have to say that the E11 hits like a girl, sure the damage is more consistant but it doesnt amount to much really. I find this odd since its higher up the marksman skill tree.

Any suggestions on what I should be using at this point guys?

Laser rifle for mindshot and big damage potential. Eats up less mind pool, but if you miss it's going to be a problem.

Switch to spraystick in groups and after you mindshot. Eats up a lot of your mind pool if you use specials, but the DPS is great for a rifle. More margin for error as well, if the creature gets close, it's 2 seconds and you can warning shot it away.

unsliced laser rifle is 20-350, 6.2 sliced spraystick 11-159, 1.6 spd.

Well , I played through Beta with a DLT20A and then in the release I picked up a Laser Rifle and Sprayer , also .

I'm back to the DLT20A lol . Great gun , once you find a QUALITY MADE one . All of the things mentioned above hold true , great speed and most important for ME is the solid consistent damage . Nothing worse than those initial 3 shots being the difference between life and death and having them all be duds . Can't STAND hitting a Headshot III for 80 points of damage . In my book all the 1200 hits don't add up if your getting double digit damage even 5 percent of the time .

So , I stick with the almost guaranteed solid damage of the DLT20A . Just a great , reliable workhorse of a Rifle . Plus the HAM costs are low , so you can get into a long fight without worries , unlike the Laser.

I also use the Sprayer a bit more often now , as well . Got a great great Sprayer that I got sliced ( bad slice , unfortunately only 16% speed I think ) but it's great for close encounters . I call it my grave digger , because it's what I use to chase dying MOBS down into their graves with .

Don't use Warning Shot any more , too unreliable . I use traps now , much much more consistent and reliable at my skill level . The traps seem pretty consistent even against the hardest MOBs , and well , ya know that Warning Shot is just a crap shoot .

Haven't tried the E11 , but all the ones I have seen have stats that are inferiour to my DLT , so I said - why bother .

Haven't tried the T-21 yet either , but I image this rifle will be your ideal opener . It's got the good high minimum damage so your guaranteed great opening shots , and the speed is irrelevent because you will be firing shots that won't be detected till the fourth one , or one hit splitting people in PvP . T-21 seems to have it all , just waiting for them to pop on Bria .
